Forgotten, largely unknown, and, in my opinion, the most underrated series on the planet.
Riding on the wave Mario 64 created, this was the Blue Bomber's transition into 3D. It went for 2 games and one spinoff, the well-reviewed Misadventures of Tron Bonne.
The first game follows the adventures of Megaman Volnutt, a plucky teen boy who just so happens to have a cannon for an arm. Crash landed on scenic Kattelox Island with Roll Caskett, his mechanic, and her grandfather, the wily(heh) Barrel Caskett, Megaman fights all manner of pirates and bloodthirsty robots in defense of the island, only to discover he may play a much larger role in the fate of the entire world. The second continues his adventures, wherein he learns about his past and his part to play in an act set down by the evil Master System. Sadly, it leaves off on a cliffhanger, and to this day, Volnutt's story remains unresolved.
Make no bones about it, I love this game. It's my favorite game series, and has been ever since I played it way back when. Like I said, I think this is honestly the most overlooked, underappreciated game on the planet, and I want to bring it back from its grave (plus, if I can drum up some enthusiasm, maybe Capcom will take notice and finally give us a sequel! ).
Well, I'm finally done. I leave it to you, people. Do you agree? Do you think I'm addled? Or do you simply not know what I'm talking about?
