Does it get better?

I have been watching anime for a while now, but for some reason I never watched Naruto. Out of curiosity I started watching it one day because people seem to think its good, but I got to episode 7 or so and I am finding it pretty boring. Does it get better or is the rest of the series this slow paced? Maybe I just gave up too early, but I don't know whether or not its worth the watch.

It gets progressively better until the end of the first series (~130 episodes). Then there's 80 episodes of filler you can just skip. The second series, Shippuden is pretty bland until signifanctly far into it.

Actually it depends...Naruto is pretty interesting after ep20...plus,if you stop at the episode 7 you will remain with the cool Sasuke image>.>

Around the time when they start doing actually missions and what not. xD
It gets REALLY good when you go into the Shippuden episodes.

I would say that naruto is pretty boring as so but it has its moments but when it come to shippuuden things really starts to pace up and its awesome

To answer your question yeah, it gets better. I watched it when it first came out and I knew it was something good (to me at least). But it has a slow beginning that I never thought it would catch with many people at that time. But it also depends on what you like in anime, like

It's in it's prime during Sauske Retrieval Arc.,after that it went down hill very quick.

Liked Naruto very much, but some episodes, random missions, weren't that good.

It hurts my soul.

Naruto is one of those anime that has so many elements that need to be explained that it is very slow to start. That being said, I personally loved the show. In terms of shonen it's one of my personal favorites (though shonen is usually one of my least favorite genres). Another problem with the beginning is that you really start the show when the main characters suck in terms of battle abilities so it takes even longer for you to see any good fights with the main characters (none really until Rock Lee v Gaara, episode 39).

Naruto is a really, really long show. If you can last until episode 39 I would say do so because progressively the main story line gets better and better (the fillers kind of suck and there are a lot of them). If you like shonen anime Naruto will very likely be good for you if not you may end up realizing after watching 40 episodes (around 16 hours) that you've wasted a good chunk of your life.

Go watch Dragonball Z instead, they're virtually the same. Bouncy main character, brooding anti-hero, bad guy comes along they fight, they lose, they train, they beat bad guy, new bad guy comes along who has a questionable gender, they get beaten, they train...

Except where a kung fu artist in orange is cool, a ninja in orange is not.
