I am my own role model.
Oh, Hi-deeki, imagine... your kind not eating raw fish! ^_^
Sure, blind following is stupid. But if there's a person who is excellent at something, you could see how they excel, learn why, try it, gain feedback, and eventually develop your own way.
This isn't blindly following the person, just taking shortcuts. It's better than starting from zero and taking what might be a very long time to learn a lesson you could have learned in a shorter time.
That, assuming that one is using one's mind while following, and not blindly "emulating" it.
Pikachu. . Yeah, That's right.

GENGHIS KHAN WOOP
I'm 1/16th Mongolian, fo real yo.
@Zod- It's a joke. Take it easy.
Also, some people actually think of Genghis Khan as a hero. Your thoughts on whether Genghis Khan is a "role model" or not is strictly subjective. Now I must admit that I don't actually think of Genghis Khan as a role model, but I simply said so in a joking matter since I am a tiny fraction Mongolian.

The rewards of tolerance are treachery and betrayal.
One of the Black Belts in the martial arts class I go to is sort of a role model to me. Seeing as he isn't famous there is no real point in me saying his name seeing as nobody will have heard of him.

^^Still working on list, not every anime I has seen has been added yet.
"Why should people trust me? They don't have any reason to, yet. Distrust is human nature. Distrust creates doubt and doubt causes people to miss judge the intention of others. But people can change, can't they?"
Holy crap, Zed you found me a new role model. I thought the guy sucked before, but now he's just a beast in my eyes.
James Hetfield strictly for his stage presence and public/fan relations. I want to emulate that on stage. That and how he captures a crowd and keeps the attention. When I'm on stage, I strive for that.

Well, technically the correct word for role-model is "Imprimer".
As children, we become "attached" to certain individuals and their giving of either praise or shame for our actions detrimes how we learn and grow, and eventually develop our vaules goals and beliefs.
Now, it is possible for a child to become their own imprimer. It's not a joke, it is possible (though very unlikely and very difficult to accomplish) that a child will figure out a way to give themselfs praise and shame for their actions. Thereby enforcing their values as they see fit without any outside infulence.
There is a dark side to this though, because the person themselfs becomes their own critic, all the brakes in the system are pretty much gone, and this could eventually lead to mania or other extreme behavor.

The Brighter the Light the Darker the Shadow
For some reason, I think my hero would be Jackie Chan. Always been interested in all of his movies and all the things he's done to make his movies. He's done quite a bit of damage to his body to entertain us.
I am what I am today because of him... I think I just insulted him.
I now know what hell sounds like; I recommend a tactical nuclear strike on my position. Tell my family I love them.
I don't look up to role models and never have even as a kid.
I dress how I want and go after what I want. I really have little interest in the people with higher status than me. Even if for some random reason a college professor ask "Who do you inspire to be like in the film production industry" My answer will be no one. I'm not trying to be like anyone. I'm just going after what I like with my own creativity. As a director/writer/or editor you can't have the same technique as someone else. You either prefect it so your version is better and come out on top or come up with your own.
Bruce Campbell he has a chainsaw for a hand what else is needed...=D
When I was a kid my brother was my role model. Everything he did just looked awesome to me. He could eat the spiciest food, he was doing several martial arts, he could draw, he kicked butt at video games.
Right now I don't really have a role model. :c
I'm gonna say Idina Menzel, Patricia Arquette, Kristen Chenoweth, and Nanne Gronvall
And if you know me none of those should be a surprise =3

Naming some1 in particular is impossible to me, but then again, being that kids are easily affected by everything hear and see, there have probably been many. If i interpret from where I'm headed towards now, then it's probably all the mad scientists of modern fiction. (movies, anime and videogames)
We are Pop Candy, very happy! ^--^
Wow!! i didn't expect to see this thread again
Lol, whenever Ericgamer starts his serious "rants" he reminds me of Yusuke Yoshino from Clannad. (watch 1st ep of after story and you'll see what I mean)
My role models are either Jackie Chan or SigmaSD. I can somewhat relate the the second one, except I'm not manly enough.
If Minecraft had a Japanese intro.

They are worthy of being looked upon with great admiration.
Neither have more than a high school diploma but both are making enough money to support themselves.
Which, of course, they don't have to, because they support each other equally even after 31 years of marriage.
I've said it before, I'll say it again. I love my parents. <3
