Have you ever lost a friend?

I've lost a few friends in my life, but it was for the best. People naturally will grow apart, and I should've seen it coming with one particular friend. I was always the weird nihilistic one, and he was always the good one. He had a problem with that, and our friendship ended. It still saddens me sometimes, but I know we could never really be friends anyway because of our differences.

I lost one yesterday because I said something he took to heart..and I didn't mean it.I was pissed off...I even told him that I didn't mean what I said..but he...left.

Other than that, I rarely make friends I know won't last beyond such trivial matters, but I have plenty of acquaintances.

I've lost a few friends here and there over the years, more so back when I was still an immature and inexperienced child. One friend in particular I have a singular regret about, because it was due entirely in part to a stupid mistake on my part that we had a terrible argument that had us never speaking to each other again. In retrospect however, there was some good born from that in that I've never let such a thing happen again; however, if given the chance, I'd like to apologize to my friend should I ever have the fortune to see him again.

Other than that, I can't say as I've really lost any other friends. People grow apart and move on of course, but I don't think of that as actually losing a friendship.

I meet them both in High School, they were from Mexico and they were studying in the US. I our High School days, we used to be so united, not just during Lunch time at HS, but even in public or outside school, but after graduation, they both decided to go back to Mexico, we promised to keep in touch by e-mail and messenger, but now days they act so indifferent to me, like they are trying to ignore me, one of them even deleted me from her contacts, and I only ask myself "What did I do wrong?" I was, or at least I tried to be the best friend they could ever had by helping them with homework, listening to them when they have problems and many other things that friends do, but in the end, I guess that wasn't enough for them. This proves to me that distance changes people...

Oh I see >.< distance only changes people when they have overwhelming things to get done and not enough time to do it, or if they take things you say the wrong way and make themselves more distant because they think the world is coming down on them or something. That's what I think anyway..

Well i haven't lost many friends but i sure do get rid of quite a bit. I kinda have a very bad temper that tends to stay on all the time. Half the time it's there fault though and I've learned forgive and forget isn't exactly the best policy most of the time. If they truly mouth off to me they are certain to get a very very terrible retort a good majority of the time. So I can be certain when i say that I lose most of them due to their own stupidity and my very unforgiving nature.

Some friends I guess. I drift apart from them. So people I know well can also be lost this way. Actually that rings true for all friendships, they need constant maintenance and communication so they won't break up. It sucks, but it's true.

When I read the title I thought you were referring to people actually being dead.

Uhm. No, not really. I've made more than I've lost any. People that used to dislike me, now are my friends I'm just being friendly towards them and honest.

There is however one guy that dislikes me who used to be a friend of mine, and the reason being I'm annoying, he says.
We used to hang out, and suddenly one day he stopped talking to me and even raged on me on FB. Nothing can be done about that, I guess.

3 friends at once. mainly because of that 1 guy T.T and it left me wondering why i was friends with them in the first place. we were always sitting at the same table in class, but then because of something i had to leave them for a while and when i came back they were bullying me and secretly taking pictures in class showing me and some other 2 girls and threatened me that they were going to post it on facebook. then it gets worse, they were spying on us until later they devised a plan to hack my facebook and yahoo ID. i made a new one and i stayed away from them ever since.

I have lost quite a few friends. When I went to secondary school, some of my friends from my previous school pretended they didn't know me, and some even picked on me. I had one really good friend, but I haven't seen him in years and I can't find him because he moved home.

I made a group of friends in college, but I don't know where they are now. I've got one of them on Facebook, but they don't respond to my messages.

Yes, I have lost some of my friends over time. This is due to the fact that when we switched schools from the sixth to seventh grade, most of my friends were not in the same class as I. It was harder to get together since we had friends from our own class to hang out with.
Later when we entered high school, many of my new friends from the eighth grade went their seperate ways. Though we still keep in contact via MSN, we are not as close as we used to be.
During my second year in high school, I moved for the first time. It was kind of sad to say goodbye to my childhood memories/friends. But shortly afterwards, I was able to have a group of close buddies.
As for my old friends, I still have some of them on my Facebook, however, we don't talk to each other anymore.

well,I really try to keep my good friends,but it happens sometimes...

like a few were just simple.Like one,I was hanging out with him one day, then the next I hear child services took him. I really didn't have any idea, but then again i was pretty young.Never saw him again.

then one, i got really mad at her,but she still tried to keep by me.Eventually I forgave her (when i think about it, it really wasn't that big of a deal...),then she moved.She still has some family here,so i saw her a few years back,but it just hasn't been the same...

And one just kind of turned sides. Like I tried to talk to him one day, and he just started to be a jerk.But I think he was just trying to impress his "friends".Now he goes to our rival school,and we kinda act like we never knew eachother. But i kind of knew he'd end up like this.

But actually right now i'm trying to prevent losing some of my friends.Because next year i'm going to a new school, and i've been getting the emails of some of my friends so we can stay in touch.And the class i'm in now is mostly going to the same school (its just a move up to high school),but there's always gotta be those few.I was asking around about who's staying,and a good amount of my friends in this class said they're staying.But in class somebody asked this one if "he changed his mind" and he said no,so i asked about what. He said he was moving...now,we're kinda friends,but not real seriously.But i've wanted to be friends,'cause i've liked him since i met him in 5th grade...so i'm trying now to do something to keep in touch,and we're all trying to convince him to stay,cuz our class just wouldn't be the same.At least, i wanna be on a friend basis,i think we could be because we have a lot in common.I'm keeping optimistic about all this,because if not, i'll probably end up just wondering...

Still,that goes without saying i have some good friends. I'm really glad i have them, and i know they'll help me keep some of these friends too!

I don't make friends very easily. I'm kinda reclusive and don't leave the house often (except if there is anything that needs doing). I don't have a job yet and I spend a lot of my time on my laptop or on one of my consoles.

The fact that I'm shy doesn't help either.

I had a best friend in junior high, and when I went to high school we just grew apart. He was one year younger.

when i was in 5th grade my best friend moved away and we lost touch.

i don't even think she remembers me but every so often i think about her.

In Junior High I met a really cool friend and we parted ways in High school. The first year was okay, we stayed in touch by phone or online. Little by little I started to notice that she wasn't calling me as much and was never online. Later that year she told me she had a b/f. I was happy for her but disappointed that she couldn't tell me earlier. To make this story short, her b/f was too possessive and didn't let her hang out or talk to her friends. Thus, I lost all communication with her.

I've lost several friends over the years. The last one I lost because we started dating. Then one day he met another girl online and just suddenly started treating me poorly for no apparent reason. Shortly after that he left me for the other girl.

I used to move around a lot so I have lost quite a few great friends. We said we would keep in touch, but the distance ruins it almost every time.
