What kind of Gamer are you

I would consider myself a lifetime hardcore gamer, because I've literally played games since I was so young, that I can not even comprehend a time that I wasn't a gamer.

My whole life has been set up around video games in that respect. (not to be confused with obsession, because it's on a completely different level).

honestly, I'll play any game, any system any time, for as long as is possible. Genres that interest me the most though are puzzle and RPGs, platformers, and action/adventure, but like I said, I'm fine with any genre really.

I know a few people like you. My brother plays games for about 7 hours a day including online multilayer.

I like games with a lot of action, so I tend to go for beat em ups and action games.

I also enjoy games with strategy that test the mind.

I play almost anything exceptions are sports and most FPS games, my favorite genre at the moment is tactical shooter preferably 3rd person but it varies depending on new releases. I mostly play Xbox 360 and DS sometimes N64 or SNES.

Oh my, I do not ever remember the last time I posted a thread here in Video Games. I did do a search of this forum and did not find this so I figured why not make it cause it sounded like a fun topic for a while.
Anyway, as the title says what type of gamer are you. This is of course determined almost entirely on what type of games you play and what systems you play them on.

As for myself I am really into RPGs mostly and RTS. Those have pretty much always been my favorites. I do own a game counsel but I personally never play it. I am a PC gamer.

I'm an old school gamer that makes every new game pale in comparison to my ever present nostalgia. (Post-comodore, pre-famicom)

As for genres, I went through my FPS phase when I was in my early teens, after that it's been RTS and RPGs with a heavy focus on multi player value, at times single player when it's got a rich, plot-driven storyline.

Having enough money to let me choose, I decided to get all systems, so I'm no "NO U (X-BOX/PS/Nintendo/PC)" fanboy.

Can I get a high five from my PC gaming brothers?

I personally play a lot of FPS at moment. I love Bad Company 2 in particular. I used to be a ravenous fan of the RTS genre back when I played Starcraft pretty competitively.

I recently got into the Starcraft 2 beta so I imagine I'll be getting back into RTS's very soon!

Other then that, I love the occasional RPG but only if it has a very immersive plot and usually only if it has some very fleshed out character-building systems.

My favourite RPG of all time continues to be Vampire Bloodlines: The Masquerade.

Im an old school gamer, I still have my SNES, N64, and PS. The newest system I probably use is the Nintendo DS (I bought a PSP, but Im trying to figure out how to download PSP games in to the PSP). But I mainly play my N64, I barely play the other ones.

I am really big into survival horror games, mainly zombie ones, such as Resident Evil and the Left 4 Dead series. Nothing makes me feel more better than killing hundreds of zombies with an M-16 ^_^b

I also love pretty much any game by Valve, the Half-Life series being my all time favorite....they really need to get to work on Half Life Episode 3 >:C

I don't often play those kinda games but one that is a little older that I suggest you try is called Haunting Ground. It is really scary.

I dabble in every genre, however typically I do not enjoy racing games or FPS.

My true love is the old arcade games, both the popular classics and obscure treasures that get over looked. I love fighting games, beat 'em ups, platformers and strategy RPGs a whole lot.


There isn't a single console that has everything I want, so I play all of them. As much as I love the old stuff, I consider myself an "evolving gamer" and make it a point to stay on top of new changes and developments.

However, On occasion I'll play like Pokemon on the DS or like. . Some RPG games on PS2 or 360.

Halo might be cliched, but it's nice to look at and has some characters.

I'm pretty much a Console player, PlayStation fan of course.
Even though I like playing The Sims on PC.

I like me some old skool (especially arcade, SNES and Genesis), but also prefer RPGs (most types), platformers (particularly 2D ones) and some casual games of late as they suit my current lifestyle where I work a lot. Doubly so if the game's available for my iPhone.

But I'll give it a shot.

Im the type of girl that likes fighting games!! Like Soul Calibur, Tekken, DOA. All that good stuff.

I've tried FPS but I'm epically fail. I take like a good 30 seconds to just aim!! I miss a good amount of time and always get pwned in the first 5 minutes.

Oh and racing games are fun too! Mario Kart!!

I mostly play music games, on my PSP and online ones. Throw in a couple of RPGs like FF VII and something like Dissidia. Also shooters like L4D on the computer. I would very much like to try a dating sim. Lol. >_>
