I guess I mostly play RPG and FPS/RPG. Though it must be western. I think J"RPG"s are a joke, and they doesn't deserve the RP-part of their names (merely having stats does not make something an RPG). Occasionally I play strategy games as well, real time or turn based really is the same to me; though I haven't really found a strategy game I've liked as of late. And I'm strictly a PC gamer.

Old Skool, focusing primarily on the RPG and 2D platformer genres along with many arcade games in general.
These days I spend most of my time on home and portable game consoles while still playing the odd PC game (particularly my favourites when PC exclusive), much like when I first started gaming.
I was heavily into PC gaming with less console gaming for a period around 2000ish for a couple years when Unreal Tournament (the original) was huge and decent PC LAN parties weren't in short supply like they seem to be locally these days.

Never was a big fan of 1st person shooters,so I don't play those.
You'll usually find me playing stealth games like Splinter Cell,or Manhunt, but not the complicated ones.
I also play adventure action games, like DMC,and God of War.
A RPG every now,and then.
If i say 8-10 hours per day, would anyone call me an addict...?
Heeey!
RPG games, of course. Hack n' slash are my all time favorite. Old side scrollers are fun to play too.
I absolutely dislike turn-based.
Derp.
I like RPGs and JRPGs, and the occasional hard-core shooter. I've played every single FF and Persona game, and I'm hoping to get my hands on Disgaea 3.
I like sandbox games like Red Dead Redemption and Prototype, and FPS like Fallout 3, The Halo Series, and Borderlands (<3). I'm pretty much like a little bit of everything, with my least popular type of games being racing games.
I only liked ONE MMORPG evar, and that was WoW, when it was just an online game and not a mega multiplayer.
JRPGS,and Eroges.
Most of my games are RPG's especially japanese RPG's and I am a handheld and console player....I play online games on my PC but sometimes I get bored. I'm not usually a hardcore gamer since I only play my games just an hour or two
Uhm. I like to paly, COD, and Rock Band. Im totally psyched for Sims 3 on xbox 360!! uhm... thats about it. I tried Red Dead Redemption , but the horses were completely annoying. And DH took most of the games we had to gamestop to preorder the new xbox, and Call Of Duty: Black Ops.
Guess I like the shooting ones, bc when he is on my last nerve, I turn it on... and blow people away. haha Its prefectly legal right?
for me i like mostly RGP, FPS also the old school game's
i wuv horror games :3

Missed this, I'm curious what RPGs you've played from Japan. You have series like Final Fantasy, MegaTen, Persona, Breath of Fire, Grandia, ect and all have a story, not just stats. In America you have games like Diablo being called rpgs. All they have is stats. The story of the game could fit on a flash card. Many US games like that are being called RPGs. There's no character development other then stats and level.
EDIT: Missed the last part. If you're strictly a PC gamer you'll find very few Japanese games for the PC since the PC isn't used over there. They use completely different technology for things like computers.

I'm not a huge fan of casual games or horror games, but I do like RPGs, shooters, platformers, and anything else along those categories. For some reason I just can't get into 8-bit games, but 16-bit I have no problem with ;P

For Some reason i Used To Think Hardcore GameS LiKe Cod And Mortal Kombat Were The Only Ones I Like , then i started Playing Jrpg's
Darker Than Black : Best Anime Ever
What happened to all the strategy game love? Normally I would be the guy who simply replies "pro", but I'll be honest today. I'm more of a strategic gamer, relying on my own fast-paced thought to get me through the hard times. I tend to stick to games that give me headaches from thinking too much, or puzzle games that make want to drink a cold one when you've finally beat that level. Nintendo till the end.
I'm a competitively casual gamer. I play to beat my friends. The games we play are always fast paced, regardless of genre. Currently we mainly play Warhammer 40K: Dark Crusade, UT2004, and some Smash Bros.

I play all types of games that peek my interest well except Sport and Racing games, I find those games pointless but i mainly like RTS and RPG. But most games, in my opinion, are generally better for the PC so i'm a PC gamer.
I play a lot of different things depending on the system, but I mainly enjoy J-RPG's. No, final fantasy isn't my favorite of the group, it's actually the Tales Of series. I've enjoyed most of the ones that have come through america, heck, i even bought Vesperia for the PS3. I do play some FPS but thats only cod and only when i feel like murder is fun. Baseball, some fighting games *mma* and music games. . . <<;;; I own all the singstars
Did I tell you to look at me? No? Good then get the hell away from me.
I like a bit of everything =]
Im no 'hardcore gamer', just what ever when ever!
Mariana 1998-2011 The angels will give her what we didn't.
Its safe to say that Im a Hardcore/Pro Gamer.
Dating back from the Genesis I've been playing games None stop.
Its been my life basically. so I'm studying to become a video game designer,
Its also safe to say that I've played over 10,0000 Games.
I love it. And I love how the video game generation keeps growing.
Though, I wish the designers would stop fiddling with the whole motion control crap,
I mean it is nice and all But they need to remember The percentage of Hardcore Gamers is Higher then Casual gamers.
Its also funny the more games come out the more I can review and see whats good and whats bad.
Meh,
Pure Gamer Over here !!! ^.^
Strong Points: FPS & Fighters,
Weak points: RTS & Sports.
Seriously if I wanna play freaking sports I'LL GO OUTSIDE >_>

I'm the obscure kind. One look at my collection and you'll never see games the same way again..................
I like any and all 3rd person games whether they are RPG's,action, shooters or stealth. But i enjoy RPG's and mmo's the most because i have fun looking at the visual progression of my character and i want to play as immersive a story as possible.Rpg's tend to focus on that
Well, Diablo is a blizzard game. They, too, are quite the laughing stock. The RPG part isn't about having a story either. A proper RPG allows you to play different roles in that story (and I don't mean roles as in character classes, more along the lines of personalities). Are you motivated by ideology or greed? Are you a diplomat or do you shoot first and ask questions later? Are you lawful or a rebel? JRPGs are like watching a movie unfold with some fighting in-between.
What JRPGs I've encountered have been on console.
Hey look, Japan made a movie about me!
