Reality or a Nightmare?

This is very different than my usual work. It also may strike many as a bit weird or odd. If you have any questions as to what something means, ask me and I'll let you know. ^^ I hope everyone likes it.

Reality or a Nightmare?

I awake in the dead of night
Shadows from outside looming in
Casting an eerie gaze over the room
Walking to the window, I see a reflection
A reflection of someone behind me

A weird sensation on my back

Feeling startled, I turn around
What I saw seems to have vanished
But wait...
A trail of blood leads out of my room
Should I follow it?

Too late...
Out the door and down the hall
But, what am I following now?
The trail has vanished
Has been wiped clean

"Maybe I need sleep.
Yeah that's it, sleep"
I return to my room
Only to find the walls drenched
In this warm, sticky liquid

Blood...

With a closer look now
The walls are pulsating
Erratic breaths as I marvel at the obscurity
I turn to the door but what do I find?
The one from that reflection standing there

I notice my back is wet...
It's blood...
Before, when looking out my window, he stabbed me
The blood had been mine all along
But what is all this?

A heartbeat...
A slow yet nervous
Heartbeat...
Where is that coming from?
I look to where the man is standing

An evil smirk aligns his face

My door has become a heart, but, what?

Just then he shoves a knife
Through that flesh that was once the door
I clutch my chest...
Coughing up blood as I lie on the ground
Writhing in pain...

His smirk is the last sight I see...

I really liked it! I likeed the tingly feeling it gives when i read it. (;
The only part that I can see, is at the end it gets a little confusing.
Is it that the door became your heart, or your chest?
Can you explain that to me.?

Ooo, nice suspenseful-ish story. Seems like a scene out of a horror flick. One of my friends (an amateur filmmaker) might be interested in adapting this into a short film....I wouldn't mind seeing that...

@Rullo, when the man stabbed the narrator in the back while she was looking out her window is when the man cast a sort of spell on her and her room. Her room became her chest. So the walls became alive and started forming organs that were inside her. If she wouldn't have died from that stab to her heart, her bed would have became her lungs. Lol o.o; weird I know.

If I want to see it as a short film, then you can be absolutely sure that it was, at the very least, good. At the very most, it was revolutionary, but that's probably exaggerating a bit.

Let's just take the happy medium and say it was great.

Lol ok XD thanks. Hm, well you've got me into writing non-rhyming poems lol. Though I'm going to go back and forth with rhyming and non-rhyming. I'm glad to know I can write good ones that don't rhyme.

Well, I can just see this being something acted out on a screen. My mind is visualizing it and it's coming as vivid as my dreams.
