he liked the dub better?? AH-hahahahaa! That's fantastic. Makes sense though. The whole show was supposed to feel very Americana.

I don't like dubbed stuff because the English translation is usually inaccurate and the voices suck. Great example: DBZ.

LOVE them but only with certain shows. :3 It depends on who the the better actors are...and yes, sometimes it IS the American ones. XD
Dubs That Are Win:
FULL METAL PANIC!!
Gundam Wing
Rurouni Kenshin (YAY, he actually sounds like a MAN!!)
Yuyu Hakusho
Chrono Crusade
Tenchi Muyo
Nerima Daikon Brothers
Shinesman (it's almost UNfunny in subbed format. o_o)
Outlaw Star
Nightwalker
Mahou Sensei Negima (the sub is BORING! Everyone has awesome British accents in the dub!!)
Cowboy Bebop
Samurai Champloo
Hellsing
Sorceror Stabber Orphen (DAVID MATRANGA!!! SO BAD@$$!! <3)
Dubs That Are "You're Doing It Wrong"
EVERYTHING that was put on regular TV and aimed at children. It is the fault of this idiotic type of marketing that so many people hate dubs.......though I am ashamed to admit this, the Pokemon writers were capable of writing a funny joke here or there.....but the rest of those butchered dubs....KILL THEM WITH FIRE!! Especially CCS....WOW gag me. x_x
Kodomo No Omocha (Nobody's voice fits. AT ALL.)
Almost EVERY shoujo series that was not done by ADV films....*sobs over Full Moon's dub* OMG IT SUCKS SO HARD!!! JUST LIKE THE TRANSLATION!! GO TO HELL, VIZ!!
The Slayers movies.....(OMGAWD LINA'S VOICE....*cringes*)
A lot of stuff before 1995...ish.
As for the mainstream stuff....I don't think the dubs are bad but sometimes they don't fit...[S]LELOUCH!!![/S] I prefer FMA and Bleach subbed. FMA because I really like Romi Paku's voice for Ed and I like how she can actually sound like a little boy instead of a....girl unlike OTHER female voice actresses who voice boys! T_T Inuyasha is probably on equal levels as far as acting and writing goes. Sometimes the writers throw in extra little jokes in the script for lulz.
lol Chan I've been following your epic battle with Mangafanguy for what feels like weeks now, and when I saw that post I got confused and forgot where I was and thought you had switched sides. XD

If, and this is a big if, the voice-acting doesn't sound like they just read it off the script, like FMA.
Sorry @ all the FMA fans, but I think the dub sucks. Vic Mignogna can't voice-act in my opinion.
Not everything is black and white like that.
Now that I think of it, the English voice-actors in hentai are horrible.
Not everything is black and white like that.
HAHAHA! They're supposed to be horrible...xDDD That's what makes hentai amazing. The dubbed voices add to the wonderful hilarity that is hentai.
And I agree with you 100% on the FMA dub. :o I don't think Vic made a good Ed at all either...Glad there are other people out there who think that. I thought I was alone. Romi Paku ftw.
How'd You Like That On Your Lawn?!"I may be empty, but I'm not worthless!"

Oh, I think I have to stop you there. While it is more than irritating when distributors market certain anime at children, I wouldn't call that type of thinking idiotic. It (unfortunately) makes perfect sense. When it comes to teenagers, unless they are hardcore fans of a particular anime, they are not going to buy everything that has to deal with that anime (beyond shirts, some toys, etc).
Children on the other hand, if they like it, they wouldn't mind having their room decorated in whatever show they like whether to please themselves or friends. They don't just want the Naruto shirt or the Naruto toy; they want the Naruto backpack, the Naruto pencils, the Naruto party gifts, the Naruto bike, the Naruto games, the Naruto shoes and wake up every morning with a bowl of Naruto puffs. If if kids see it and want it, they WANT IT and will pester until they get it.
That's why stuff is marketed to kids, because they will watch the show and then want things (especially if every other kids has it). We hate it when companies do this but they want money and marketing to kids is the best way to make it.
This is my war face.
This is what happens to trolls who mess with me.

I could never really enjoy the FMA (1st series) sub. I am one of those that prefer the dub Ed, and I think there were a few other sub voices that didn't work for me. Also, considering the location the story eventually goes to, I just prefer hearing it in English for more of a natural feel.
I am enjoying the FMA Brotherhood sub though, for some reason Ed's seiyuu works better here for me (maybe the difference in art style?). I'm not bothering with the dub on Adult Swim, going to wait for the DVDs to come out before watching that version.
I do not like dub.
because: 1.The original anime drawing (the mouth movement) is for japanese, some time the dub didn't do a good job for that, other time, they try to get it synch *spelling?* with the animation by add more or cut out words. 2. Japanese voice are sooo cute! dame I cannot immagine how the K-on girl would sound if they dub them T..T (they better not). 3. Sub let meh learn japanese.
~P.N.~
Currently on Chapter 11 FFXIII oh.. and FAT PRINCESS is a fun game haha.
"Hoa đẹp là hoa có gai, gái đẹp là gái phá thai nhiều lần."
My fav:
GTO.
Clannad (and after story of course).
Toradora.
Hajime no Ippo
For me it depends on what I saw first.
If I have started watching it in English, I can't take to it in Japanese. This mostly applies to anime I watched when I was younger, like Pokémon, Tenchi Muyo, Dragonball, Beyblade, Yu-Gi-Oh and the like... the sort of stuff that cartoon channels used to air. I'd find it almost unnatural to watch any of those shows in Japanese (apart from the actual first series of YuGiOh, since that was never actually dubbed, that I know of anyway :P)
Another case, it could just be an exception, was Death Note. I watched it in English because I bought and read the English manga first.
However, if I decide that I'm going to watch an anime that I've heard about but have never seen, I'll usually watch it in Japanese with subs, even if I'm fully aware of an English dub. It's just weird like that.
xoxox
I'm like this too unless the sub is unavailable. The dubs I recently starting liking were from watching Anime On Demand. Though I admit, it's rather lame of them to not include a Japanese language option, though it's smart in terms of marketing DVDs...
@wolfgirl: I know....I just meant it's idiotic to the real audience, the fans. Like it's unfair.
Someone said something about mouthflaps being made for Japanese tracks. Actually, the Japanese don't try to match the flaps. This has changed a bit during recent years, but they rarely, if ever match the flaps.
Basically all of Miyzaki's films are like this. Nausicca of the Valley of the wind is my favorite animated film of all time. Part of the reason for this was Uma Thurman and Patrick Stewart's amazing voice work. If your a sub person and you haven't watched this dubbed yet, pull out the DVD again. Give it a shot, because your missing some incredible artistry. don't worry, we won't hold you to it here on the dubbed side of the fence. XD Its a special case when you have emmy and oscar winning actors performing the dub.

I like the original one
I perfer subbs, particular most American dubbs in my opinion have voices that dont suite the character making it hard for me to get into the show if the voice acting sucks, and most of the time it feels like the american voice actor jut dont give a s*it about product eiter making the show feel half-as*ed. Occasionally I can watch a well dubb anime such as FMA. So i perfer subbs cause the original japanese version ha feeling and emotion and you can get into the story and fall in love with characters.etc.
