This is horrible.
Now Nicktoons and Disney are taking the things that made CN popular.
Soon they will have Bleach or One Piece.

They are failing horribly trying to become the next Toonami.

You're acting like an idiot. How the hell are they failing to be like Toonami? They're not even trying, they're just trying to make a living.
This can only be good. Dragon Ball Z is a cartoon that has to be show on TV for kids, not you. The reason Dragon Ball succeeded in America was because they put it on after school for kids to watch.

i think ppl forget that dragonball and dragonball z are 80's cartoons that still hold major appeal today, even when toonami was around and they were mentioning dbz on shows like grounded for life it's popularity was apparent, this just proves dbz is a winner, it will succed on nick toons, hell i'll even probably watch it again cuz it's like married with children it needs a home on tv and if nick toons offers it that home thats a good thing, i just want it around so i don't have to do crazy research just to watch an episode.

^ I rather watch it uncut.

There's nothing to cut out of DBK. Even if they did, it would be like Disney XD's version of Naruto: super minor.

Its just terrible, why doesn't this happen in my country?
I love dragonball, z and and hate gt....don't know about kai..but even if they telecast it on nick...I'll be the person who'll watch it willingly..haha.....I love dbz!!!!

Well of they put it on Nicktoons ill watch it all over again. It was a good anime and deserves to be on the air again. Now if they would only put Sailormoon back on the air ill die a happy man. Anyway best of luck to DBZ on Nicktoons. Ill give my support by watching it.

its because the cartoons in our generation are slowly turning into horrible scripts a stoner, college-dropout wrote. THey have to put it somewhere, hence cartoon network's reason for dropping toonami from their t.v. listings. They fill up those empty hours with crappy re-runs and made for t.v movies. Nicktoons is the only place where they still play good cartoons, the ones WE grew up with. My reasoning is, that since we watch nicktoons to reconnect with old programing, we can reconnect with Dragonball Z, its just know as "dragonball kai" now.

Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway \(^o^)/

Its not horrible. At least its airing in the US again. I must say at first I wasn't interested in Dragon Ball Z Kai but taking a second look at it I'm starting to really gain some interest in it.

I intend to watch it. In fact, I've been looking foreword to it all month.
However, I am unsure about weather or not it is actually a separate series from DBZ. Is it a remake? Is it just repainted digitally? Is there anything else notably different?
If it is re-airing DBZ with changing the title, I'm sure still excited. Even if it is a little censored.

It's Dragon Ball Z without the filler. It's also retouched and looks WAY less grainy than the old DBZ. It doesn't look like FMA: Brotherhood in terms of high-definition but it looks much better.

Dragonball Z Kai airs on Nicktoons this Monday @ 8:00 p.m. ET, so I hope it's good. xD
And I'm not happy with CN canceling toonami. It's just wrong.
After more research it was determined that 2012 was the end of twinkies.
This.
If you want to see a less kiddy version of Dragon Ball z Kai, check out the Japanese version, simply titled Dragon Ball Kai. Here is a link to the first 60 episodes. I have totally fallen in love with the show/story all over again thanks to this new "Kai" edit.

Dude, you should be happy. There is almost no anime left on television besides for what airs on Adult Swim on Saturdays and Avatar. Anime is starting to show up again and not just on one network. I could care less about what channel it's on, as long as good anime continues to be aired, I'm happy.
I hope people don't get the ignorant notion this time that just because a show Like DBZ Kai is being aired on a network such as nicktoons it's not considered anime. The same problem happened with Avatar, people still dispute that it's not anime...
Me neither, I revolved my childhood around that program but I guess that's what happens when you air shows like Storm Hawks and Ben 10.

I can't really say much, but from what i've read it seems abit bad, on the other hand, you're lucky, in sweden we do not have a single, real Anime show airing, i would love if we got DB here.
Sweden have, same channels, Nickelodeon, Disney, Disney XD and CartoonNetwork, well, it's just my thought, sweden sucks.

huehuehuehuehue.

Kai's an excellent restructuring of DBZ, it cuts out a lot of what made the series not as good as it could have been(not to say it wasn't awesome, but oh my god I don't think I could take watching seven hours of yelling and flexing at my age).
Avatar is a show created, drawn, and written by Americans, that happens to use asian flavor. This is no different than Heroman, just the opposite. It is no more anime than Wakfu, which is French, which is no more anime than Flapjack.

Indeed. The reason why people, including myself, don't believe that Avatar is an anime is because it is an American show. So long as every anime doesn't have the same style of animation, simply because a show has the stereotypical "anime style" doesn't make it an anime (just like how Teen Titans, Code Lyoko and Totally Spies are not anime, despite the style).
I think that Dragonball Kai is a pretty good show so far. Sure, there are a few scenes that have been cut, but it didn't really effect the flow of the show (and really, the only people who would have noticed that a cut was made were people who had seen the show before), which is faster than the original series (more than half of the series was cut out). I think the lack of filler will help to keep the attention of kids who are watching the show.
I could live without Vic Mignogna singing "Dragon Soul", though. Its like hearing Edward Elric sing.![]()
This is my war face.
This is what happens to trolls who mess with me.

Dragonball Kai is such fail. It should have never been made. I'll just stick to watching the original.

I've never really understood Dragonball at all.
Too many things that make me confused.
So, the first thing I thought was, "Interesting."
The responses in this thread are as I expected.
Let's be honest, I'm pretty awesome.
