OOC: Fallen Sword the MMORPG

User Guidelines:
1. Because there are only 5 levels, you level up slowly.
2. You can communicate with either a microphone or a keyboard.
3. When you die in the the game, you automatically log out.
4. If you're killed by a virus, you will be unconsious in real life
6. A challenge (or battle) can only be made by permission to the other player.


Admin Guidelines:
1. You may travel to other realms, but you must be aware of the realm you are an Admin of.
2. Since the last time the were on was a BETA test, they also start on level 1.
3. Also follow User Guideline 2-6
4. If you need to report a problem, report it to RonZ or other Co-Owners


Co-Owner Guidelines:
1. The Co-Owners have to stay in the owner's realm, to overwatch the other realms.
2. If reported to by an Admin, report it to RonZ
3. Co-Owners must send a holograpic message if needs to send an important message.

Question, how are Co-Owner chars supposed to RP if they can't interact with other people?

They can... through Holograpic messages. When the Virus is realeased or any other emergency the Co-Owners will come out of their realm. They also arrange tournaments and judge in them or something like that, I'll need to edit the guidelines later the RP will be up soon I guess

would it be alright with everyone if I stopped using the "<>" symbols to indicate propositions in his translator as its starting to get kind of tedious to type long paragraphs of dialogue that format. Just assume that he's using the translator unless otherwise mentioned.

Yeah I was wondering that too, I could imagine it would start to get irratating going <so><how><are><you>? though it was a smart idea, you could just have it so it auto translate to the user's installed language.

'hey sir can I take your order?' 'YES... pawn... I would like a quarter pounder with cheese... NO ONIONS!! I shall annihilate you if I find an onion! My princess hates onions!'

That line will be burnt in my head it makes me laugh everytime I read it

well one of the admins/co-owners can talk to Soren about how he got hacked and how he should shout it across the entire noobie zone.

That has to be the admins and the get reported to the co-owners. We can't leave unless it's something serious.

Okay... let me get this straight... the co-owners know there is a virus in their code that can kill users... not only did they not delete the current version and reupload the pretest version, but they also took the corrupted version and went on to make it the game. With a fatal glitch in the program... and now... knowing that... they don't actually keep careful track of the immediate happens of its initial release especially ones that directly deal with hacking? That's just a lawsuit waiting to happen.

No they do, but they don't interact with the players directly. That's what the admins are for. The admins contact the players then contact us and ask us what should be done. Don't know about RonZ and the possible other co-owners but Shira is constantly viewing and changing the data of the game. If he answered every problem then he wouldn't have time to work on the game. Thus the admins handle the player affairs. Think of admins like GMs in any MMORPG.

Of this I am entirely aware, but given that Shira by your own admission is monitoring Soren with "tight tracers" you'd think that Soren shouting "I've been haxed!" would fall outside the realm of "every problem".

This goes along way to say, either reality matters or it doesn't and so far reality hasn't been a huge stumbling block so I don't see why it should be now.

But in the same post I had his mind more on my other char Mad Hatter. Besides even if he wasn't troubled he still has protocol he must follow. Yes it's a serious concern. If it's a confrontation with my char you're after then you'll get it but we do have to treat this RPG as an actual game at the same time. Just trying to be a bit realistic with the ways mmos work. That it it lets admin chars rp their job.

yes... and realistically you don't take a mmo public that has coding that causes a fatal reaction in people. Also, realistically data isn't a magical force that you can just move with your mind. Nor can fatal reactions be caused by looking at data or a visor being reversed. My point is, nothing about how this RP works is realistic. Its stylized, not that there is anything wrong with that, stylized thing are made that way so that they are more fun than reality. I'm just saying being a stickler for protocol purely because its "realistic" is arbitrary. Neither you, nor RoZo nor an admin have to talk to my character about shouting hax. I was merely providing an idea so rozo could break his writers block. You can have reasons not to take it... he can too... but realism is arbitrary in a world which doesn't follow reality.

I said partially, not fully. And Mad Hatter isn't moving it with his mind. For all intents and purposes he's the program. Which I do have flaws planned for that. And no, I'm not doing something like the players mind is in cyber space. No matter how good a program is it still has limits and he has his. Besides my own opinion I think this is how RoZo planned for the world to work. I'm just following his guidelines for owners. Though this does bring up a valid point in that he should better define each user groups boundaries.

my point still stands... co-owner's getting involved in a hacking incident in a game which has a fatal virus lurking in its code isn't so far pass the realm of thought that if the story runs better or an idea comes about for their involvement than nothing should stop them.
