Yoshikane Sou: Guitar

ZAZEN BOYS was founded in the remains of NUMBERGIRL by former NG frontman Shutoku Mukai and drummer Ahito Inazawa. The two then recruited Yoshikane Sou of Kicking the Lion, and Hidekazu Hinata, formerly of ART-SCHOOL. Ahito Inazawa would later leave the band to form VOLA & The Oriental Machine, being replaced by Matushita Atsushi. Hidekazu would later leave as well, being replaced by Yoshida Ichirou.
ZAZEN BOYS continues, in a sense, where NUMBER GIRL left off, fueled by Mukai’s experimentation. The band took a steadily more electronic path, with the use of synthesizers over much of the group’s sound, but also began incorporating ambient music, as well as jazz and funk. They have released 4 albums, ZAZEN BOYS, ZAZEN BOYS 2, ZAZEN BOYS 3, and ZAZEN BOYS 4, as well as an EP, HIMITSU GIRL’S TOP SECRET.
