Wrote this a while ago, poetry was never a strong suit for me but I thought this one turned out alright.
On a Restless Night
On a Restless night the wings of Zephyr could not, would not
Take me to that land of unimaginable comfort.
Where honey laden droplets of rest
Drizzle over toil burdened eyes
The night echoes the coming morning dew as I lay staring, gazing,
Into a land I could not reach.
My only friends chirp softly with the cool night breeze
Misery with others is misery lessened.
Dully my head throbs, how it betrays me as my mind disassembles,
Piece by clockwork piece it falls away.
Yet that graceful beauty of sleep will not take me.
Confused my heart wonders what could trouble me so,
A life not yet fulfilled? A dream lost in the wind?
And so I turn over, the restless wanderer always.
