what?! you have it?! north american release isn't until march 9!!!!
i'm waiting for it and i'm finding it hard to. my game informer told me that the game is great (thanks to that new baby Crystal Tools) but the story is a little lacking and doesn't live up to some other FFs. still, lightning is said to kick so much butt...
i'm excited!!!!

Final Fantasy XIII doesn't come out till March 9th in America, it's already out in Japan. So unless you bought a PAL version, or pirated version. Then you sir, are a fail.
I played the demo that came with the Japanese Advent Children BR last year. Thats about it for me so far. I'm not a huge FF fan so I wont be getting this when the American version comes out in March. I will eventually get it though. I will miss some of the exploration though. I like wondering around towns listening to townsfolk speak of pointless things.
Someone can't buy the Japanese version?
And I'm pretty sure the PAL version comes out same time as the U.S. version.

You have to wait like everybody else, I've been waiting for seven years for this game to come. It has been announced over, and over, and over again in the E3 Summits, and it has been push-backed, push-backed, again. This time I am thankful that its coming out in March 9th I don't mind waiting in 16 days for the release for the game.
Uh...that's just stupid. If you can read Japanese or have the money to buy it then why would you wait?
Ya'll are pirates just letting you know >_>; Im just saying, just gotta wait. Impatient people. Jeez. Its only 16 days!! D:
No, it's actually possible to import the game FROM Japan. If you bought the Japanese version it is not a bootleg.
Don't know what OP has though. Either way it's possible to have a legit copy.
oh I see...Shame on even the Japanese for buying FFXIII back in December. They should have waited til March like the rest of us in the "free" world!
bad bad bad Japanese people. Shame on you!
I can read your posts all I want and I'll still think your opinion is a bit absurd.
If you can read Japanese and just prefer Japanese voice acting or just play JRPG's for the "gameplay" then I see nothing wrong with importing. After all the PS3 is region free so there's no modification necessary when it comes to getting it to play imports.
So on your behalf you think importing is okay, but in some regions such as US importing has been illegal, and it has been proven. I think importing is wrong on a foreign system, importing is bad, its a no-no in the U.S. like "Your Father" said, we don't know which exactly the OP has, it could be a legit, or a pirated version. So this is basically a pointless argument.

japanese are NOT to blame imports are imports besides imports are usually better ones espically in japanese or box art.

Importing is only illegal if it comes from Cuba. Or over like $400 and you don't report it.
My father never said importing was bad. In fact he constantly drove imported cars and was always buying the latest Japanese electronics...If you want to get into all of that anyways, Square-Enix is a Japanese company, Sony is a Japanese company. The money will go back to Japan whether or not I buy a Japanese version or a U.S. version.
Better buy your Mexican built Xbox 360 and Japanese developed U.S. version of FFXIII. And don't purchase them online as you don't always pay your local sales tax that way.
And no more Anime for you! I want you to watch nothing by Disney/Pixar, Looney Toons, and Dreamworks animation from now on!

...Importing isn't illegal.
How the hell do you think all of those "Made in China" products in stores get here? Pixie Dust?
Or what about all of those Asian super markets selling asian food from parts of...What's that place...Asia?
Importing certain products is illegal yes. Like Cuban Cigars or Cocaine.
But a video game is not.
And as long as a product goes through all the proper inspections through all the proper channels and is given the go-ahead, it's legal.
And if an import site isn't going through the proper channels with their goods, odd's are you're not ordering from them because they'd be shut down.
And importing isn't wrong on a foreign system, that's just silly.
Many countries rely on importing and exporting. Without it, their economic struture would fold.
In fact, I myself purchased a Nartuo fighting game a few years ago for Gamecube. From an import site.
The US version didn't come out untill a year and a half later.
By all means, inform the FBI.

Fox LOL importing is not illegal, one of the big selling points of the PS3 (for me) is that the games are region free, so you can import games that may not be released in your area. When Demons Souls came out tons of people imported it because the company originally had no plans for a US release, yet they had english language options in the Asia version.
anyway as for the OP: congrats on getting a copy! I'm not SUPER hyped for this game at all, but i still look forward to playing it and laughing at the terrible script and plot while enjoying the gameplay. I'm a big FF fan

Fox, answer me this:
How the hell can I burn a Blu-ray disc when it's impossible?
Why the hell would someone rip a game over 26GB?
Why the hell would I download a game over 26GB?
It's totally obvious my copy is legit, since it's the Japanese version. And impatience it's totally irrelevant in my case. It's not my problem American Square Enix screwed up making FFXIII for the Xbox 360(I own one though) and ruining for us, PS3 users. Have you even listened to that horrible dub with a horrible theme song?
Play-Asia is a legal site...heck, it's even approved.

By the way, I am in the end of Chapter 10! Wooooot! 3 more chapters.
Chapter 11 now.

Rashay: No, this is the best FF...of all time...like Kanye west style..XD But seriously...it has an amazing plot and OST. I am playing the original version so you should take my word on it.

My name ain't fox, but I can take this one!
You're right my good man. It is impossible to burn a blu-ray disk. How the hell can I burn a Blu-ray disc when it's impossible?
You can get both blank blu-ray disks and blu-ray readers/burners for your computer.
The drive costs roughly 100-150 dollars if you shop around.
A 15 pack of blank BD-R's goes for about 40-50 give or take a few dollars.
Because it barely costs money to do so.Why the hell would someone rip a game over 26GB?
One 5 day rental, you're set.
Well, since you said you, i'm not sure. But pirates would download it because if you're a pirate, or any kind of PC gamer with a high end machine, you've probably got about a terabyte of HD space, and 26 is equivalent to a drop of water in an 8oz glass. Why the hell would I download a game over 26GB?
And once it's burned, you'd just delete the file.
But like I said, I imported the Japanese version, so it's all good,
On topic, Already half way done on Chapter 11.

Well, isn't Nintendo using Blu-ray for Wii2 to avoid piracy? Exactly.
Anyways, I think that's enough with the thread drifting, I thought other people would actually import it besides myself. =\
Implying Piracy can be avoided
Implying Nintendo wouldn't only be delaying the inevitable.
Implying all the Wii2 specs across the internet are valid
Implying Playstation 3 game's, which are on Blu-Ray disks, can't be/aren't pirated on a daily basis.
Implying Implying Implying.
Don't get me wrong, I don't condone the action of piracy...But theres nothing special about blu-ray to prevent piracy.
this poor thread =( ff13 deserved better

Yeah, but since nobody imported it here, then I guess it's early here but in real time terms, I am super late with this thread.
Worthy double post is worthy.
