well, the first one in the crew is about to take the plunge. he slipped that lockdown rock on his gf this weekend and now its time to plan the bachelor party. we wanna goto vegas. anyone here ever been? you have a good time? what should be do and what should we stay away from?

I went there when I was around 15, and it was awesome, even for a kiddie like me. Just the sights and EVERYTHING. So amazing. Mostly at night time though-- that's when all the lights come up. Even at that age, I was able to walk around the casinos, so they seemed pretty lax about that. You'll have a great time.

Make sure you watch "The Hangover" though, just in case...

I'm pretty sure I've been to Vegas...but only once, when I was like 3 I don't remember a thing, except for my father gambling at the casinos. My parents used to travel a lot and took me with them. Anyways, Vegas should be great Gotta love those faaaabulous hotel/casinos

If you have the extra cash, go see the Cirque du Soleil Vegas. Worth your money and it's family/kid friendly. or the Blue Man Group.

Went for a friends wedding a few years ago. I was pretty poor though, so I tried not to do a whole lot. Then...I won just over $300 from a slot machine....Still tried to not do much because I wanted to keep as much as possible. A friends room at the Flamingo got flooded one night. That was probably the "Highlight" of the trip. Well besides the money I won.

I stayed at the Barbary Coast with a bunch of friends, which was pretty cheap considering its across the street from Caesars Palace and the Bellagio.


Oh drinks at clubs are expensive...It always seemed to be about $12 for a rum & coke...And that would be rum from the well.

I lived there when I was middle school age. I thought it was very cool, but there's not much for a kid to do there. I'd like to go back though, but I'd want my friends to go with me, and with one out of work and scraping by and the other full time in college, it's not happening for a couple years. Not that I seem to be making money sufficient to do more than pay the bills and buy food...

I'm not sure where I'd tell you to go. I believe the Bellagio has an art gallery, if you're into that. Treasure Island used to have a show that might be cool if you're bored/wasted. I haven't been there since 2000. There's bound to be all sorts of new stuff. See an IMAX flick at Luxor, too.

Of course there's the gambling, which I can't speak about, and there's the girls - not that I'm any good at "meeting chicks" anyway. And the booze. There's a world of liquor to discover, so get to it!

If you go exploring, stay away from the north side. Stay away from blue bandanas and people who wear red shoes and black jeans.

Accommodations will be substantially cheaper off the strip, but you'll need a cab or bus to get downtown. Don't bother with a car, parking is a pain and the strip -used- to be safe to walk all over. If you want to try a buffet, ten years ago the Rio and Texas Station both sucked hard. Sunset station was better, and the House of Blues has concerts, often at a reasonable price.

Oh there's some small Chinatown-type places to check out too.

If you want to partake in some female company, don't look in Vegas, it's only really legal outside the city limits. Or that's how it used to be.

By the way, there are daily trips out to the Grand Canyon and/or Hoover Dam if you want a more peaceful trip. It's a one day tour. Take lots of pictures, I most certainly believe you owe us a picture. =P

That is city is very fun with lots to do for just about anyone. Though if you wanna know something to watch out for it is all the cards that advertise junk. Most of all the ones that promote prostitution.
