Valentine's day?

This holiday is CRAP. It is so full of goddamn commercialism and capitalism and Americanism and CRAP. Like, barf. I mean look it all the useless CRAP people buy for each other and it doesn't mean ANYTHING. You don't need to buy stuff for people to make them love you! That is so lame! OH YEAH CHRISTMAS SUCKS TOO. I GET SO MUCH MORE USELESS CRAP ON CHRISTMAS. Like those stupid socks filled with candy and chocolate and other small useless things. I do like those little Frango things though. Those are bomb.

And don't even get me started on how you should treat your partner on a daily basis. You don't need a designated day to treat someone special. If you do, you have entirely missed the point. Like birthdays. Those are like the same thing. People shouldn't get a whole cake just on one day out of the entire year. People should get a whole cake every day.

Basically Valentine's Day, Christmas, and Birthdays all suck.

I'm really kind of neutral on Valentine's. When I was single it was just another day. Though, I rather liked seeing how happy couples around me seemed. When I was dating long distance it was somewhat harder, simply because the extra PDA meant I missed him that much more. Now that I'm married and with him every year, I fall somewhere in the middle. We do sweet affectionate things for each other all the time, so I don't feel an obligation to shower him with gifts on that particular day. Add to that the fact that we have birthdays literally a few days before and we tend not to do much on the 14th. This year I was sick, so we just spent the day together quietly at home. What more do you need?

I actually had a better valentines than I thought I would. Went to my friends house, drank champange, listened to her old record player, ordered pizza and tried on old hats and dresses. n.n

I know it sounds pathetic but its the best valentines I've ever had. <_<
