Betrayal

This poem is about someone who was betrayed by a friend they thought was a real friend but it turns out they were the opposite and it continually tears at their heart, making it so they can't smile genuinely unless with their true friends. I hope everyone likes it. ^^

Betrayal

All the things that you've been through could have been avoided
If all you did was ignore that little nuisance who took and subsided
They slinked away, unphased, just like it was nothing
Of course, they didn't care about the happy days
They just wanted you to feel the never ending pain

They betrayed you, back-stabbed you, wrought your destruction
To the extreme and made it so your heart was not pure
Because of them, you never experience happiness anymore
It's just a dream as it once came and is now gone
But, the effects of this nightmare still linger on

Nothing to do, nowhere to run, just sit in the shadows, there is no sun
Your heart is dark and your mind is blank
Your soul is sprung from the everlasting pain
Despair takes over and you wonder why
Your mind keeps drifting away to those horrible days

Now, years later, real friends surround you
They warm your heart and take away the despair
These are true friends, who will stick by you all the way
Always trying to cheer you up when your down
You smile your best but the scar remains...

You have to live with it, through the remainder of your days...

It was better than you gave yourself credit for. Free style in which allows teh emotions to spread out as well as you need them to do. It began with a quick squeeze of the heart, feeling as though sadness took over but ended in a slight happier tone by being able to feel your friends strength with you. It reminds me of someone I have recently met but I'd rather not mention his name in case he doesn't want the world to know. Keep writing, my friend, and give yourself more credit while in the creative process, never know who will like and who will love it. -_^
