I saw it in a magazine and sort of ignored it at first thinking it looked kinda weird... little realising i would be a total convert after the first episode and now own all the episodes on DVD XD
I havent read the manga- ive seen it in book shops and thought it looked sorta different from the anime, but ive not really sat down and read it...

It's a funny show that you shouldn't take seriously. No fanpairings should ever be created for a show like this because nothing is ever going to happen.

I won't read the manga because 18 volumes of the same thing over and over again just isn't fun.

Ouran host Club was really cute and I laughed during every episode. But I dont think its one of the best romance anime out there. Its just super cutsey and comical. <33~

I pre-ordered the BluRay release coming March 30th. Haven't watched the series yet. But I need more stuff in HD, and I've been told by a lot of people that I would probably like it.

Yeah definitely, I loved the plot and the characters. When I first watched it, I didn't know what to expect. I was surprised to find out Haruhi was a girl in the second episode (Am I the only one who didn't know? )

Then, I thought Hikaru and Kaorus behavior toward one another was odd at first, okay creepy but then I got use to it. They have probably the most interesting drama, with being dependent on each other and closed off emotionally, but secretly wanting someone to tell the difference between them. Awesome anime

Every character was lovable in their own way, and I couldn't wait to see the next one! I liked Hunny, mostly because I saw Momiji in him. (Fruits Basket)

I'd totally recommend it to anyone I know! ^^

I loved OHSHC. Not so much as a 'romance' anime but more so as a 'comedy.' Did it have some 'romantic' parts in it? Yes, and I enjoyed those parts just like a crazed little fangirl. I foamed at the mouth and begged for more, but unfortunately, did not get more. That being said, I preferred the manga. Why? Because it continued as most manga do, and went more into depth with relationships rather than just comedy.

To be honest, I prefer Special A over OHSHC. And I've probably said that in many threads. But, it's true. It's not the same as OHSHC, but has an at least similar story that goes way more into depth than Ouran did. But Ouran is still one of my favorite anime.

One of my favorite episodes will always be the Alice in Wonderland version of one of the episodes. I think it's episode 13, maybe?

Oh, and did anyone else dislike the dub when compared to the sub? I cannot watch the dubbed version. I usually prefer subbed versions over dubbed. But the dubbed version of OHSHC makes me kind of sad. ): I mean, some of the voice actors for some of the characters are okay, but there are some that I cannot stand. u___u;

Haruhi's English voice actress was one I didn't care for either for one Glass' delivery was too monotone for my preference

Mignogna (Tamaki) wasn't outright awful BUT in some of his "Tamaki rants"...well Miyano just sounded nuttier xD also his voice sounded too much like Ed from FMA which distracted me

Honey and Mori sounded pretty good to me in either version

Hikaru and Kaoru were good either way I suppose but their voice actor's weren't quite as...fun? As Suzumura and Fujita IMO

Kyoya = Jap. was better

...now that you mention it some of the others (and some of the above) did occasionally sound flat :/

The bloopers were pretty great tho'

Off of the subject of voice actors...

As for Hikaru and Kaoru I like them both and a number of their scenes but I just can't agree with the whole "couple" thing @_@

Finally regarding Hikaru x Haruhi... I think Ouran is one of the many shows that has an OTP (one true pairing) and Hikaru x Haruhi isn't it (no offense meant)

Admittedly I'd be a bit curious to see how it would work out but personal opinion doesn't feel that there is as much of a "cute" vibe between them (that's probably just because I find Tamaki's struggles and goof-ball antics to be sweet and endearing respectively though)

No, I agree. Tamaki and Haruhi are pretty much it. But I think it would be interesting to see how Hikaru/Haruhi turned out. I think they'd actually make a decent match. The only thing that upset me about Tamaki is that for the most part, he didn't understand his feelings for Haruhi, and constantly treated them as if they didn't exist, or were something else. Of course, that brought some of the humor into the anime, but after a while, it grew old. I did love those moments though, where he would jump out and do something completely random, completely out of character, due to his anger or worry for Haruhi. Because in those few but delicious moments, he actually acted as if he had true romantic feelings for her.

 

Of course, we know in the later chapters of the manga, he does realize his feelings a little better when compared to the end of the anime. And does plan to confess. I have yet to read if that truly happens, as I am unfortunately behind in the manga. -.-;

But again. I am thankful for the manga and the in depthness of the relationships.

I doubt it. I figured it out right away though. I really enjoyed this anime, which is strange for me. I don't really do "romance" even though this was more of a comedy, I suppose. I was sad when it was over, though that's not a bad thing. I suppose it would have gotten old after a while, and there's only so many adventures the characters can have in that setting before more serious moments arise.
