Google Nexus One vs Motorola Droid vs iPhone.

Oh yes, the big bang smart-phones is up for this New Year, we have the new upcoming Motorola Droid provided by Verizon, and the brand new release competitor the Google Nexus One smart-phone provided by Verizon, and the elite Apple's iPhone provided by AT&T, technology no doubt is in full motion, all of them have full online 3G networking, but why buy them? Says the simple individual, why must I have texting, music, and complicated widgets/gadgets/and pure awesomeness? we can just kick the individual out, anyways, competition is what spreads in America's culture, will stocks go up? Or will stocks go down? Verizon's stock went up 0.02 (0.06%), due to the new Google Nexus One smart-phone, and it will probably climb up due to the new release of the phone, and the elite Apple's iPhone provided by AT&T went down 0.20 (0.73%), respectively, what are your thoughts of the leading competitors?

I recently got a "dumb" phone or whatever they're called, and I still haven't gotten used to it. I can only think of once thing where I'd like to have a smart phone, and that is for studying my memory decks.

I can't lie. I want to be able to look up a youtube video whenever I want. It would be a big ice breaker that I could use whenever.

One thing that grinds my gears is how the commercials make those phones look. The youtube videos look all high definition when in reality the videos look like VHS rips.

The trendy-sounding and looking-lives that the iphone commercials seem to advertise don't come with the iphone when you buy it though, sadly.

Which is why I have a very simple calls-only and camera phone.

That would be one of the reasons I might concider getting a phone -- if I can find a phone with large clear buttons that can make and receive phone calls.

I don't want to spend $495 extra on the ability to send text messages and have a 3D HDTV display and take photos and clean my dishes and fight crime as Optimus Prime and sort my socks and fire lasers and play music and all the things those damn modern things can do.

And it needs to be big too, so I can find it. I don't want to risk inhaling the phone or absorbing it through my skin or some such.

Ideally, I want an old brick phone from the '80s that works in modern phone networks.

My Nokia 1209 is better than my Nokia N70. Wanna know why? A cellphone that can only take calls and messages can't go wrong.

@Forgotten Show: Why not stick it to the man by calling voice, which costs the cellular company more than texting but costs you less?

And I find voice works better absent a full, physical keyboard or written letters/faxes at conveying messages, anyway.

If I ever get a phone I want the MDA Pro. It's big enough to spot if some hooligan is trying to steal it, but small enough so that it doesn't distract.

Well I've got the HTC Hero currently, but I've played with the Nexus One, and it is a nice phone. I've had smartphones from Palm OS to Windows Mobile to Symbian 6.1, and so far the Android has to be the one I like the most. It has some shortcomings, but overall, I get a lot of use out of it.

Can't get the iPhone (not on AT&T) but I have an iPod Touch, so thats pretty much the same thing, and the limitations there bother me.
