I figure a lot of people are starting up school in one form or another. Good luck with that. I figure it'll produce some chaos now, but hopefully soon it'll actually mean more predictable schedules.

Anyway I'll be going on a trip the week after next. However since I spend so much time with my family when I'm at home, that probably means I'll actually be able to be more active.

Hahahaaa! Its annoying how when you have free time to come on here no one else does and when you are really busy everyone is on! Sometimes when i havnt been on at the weekend i come back and have to read a page or two but when im on all weekend theres nothing lol. I shall never win!

I sorta blame the format I'm experimenting with in Nightmarchers for what you're talking about.

In contrast, my first game here was magic mixer. I knew this forum has a lot of churn. So the underlying theme of magic mixer was to allow for perpetual recruitment. Character creation was set up so it could bring in people from almost any genre and accomodate a vast array of characters, and the way the game was designed and progressed meant it was easy to add people into groups, or for players to ditch inactives and go interact with someone else. That worked quite well.

But I got a number of comments from various people that they'd rather have a group of players that went through the whole game together, instead of the mixing and constant newbies. So I decided to try that out with Nightmarchers, having a setting that wasn't quite so all encompasing, and a format where groups would tend to stick together and not mix players as much.

Conclusion so far: Don't do that on this board.

Still, maybe the group you're in will show that it can work

I like the group thing it makes it easier reading, i only ever look out for the groups posts, which did lead to me missing someone when they joined our group, but they quickly left anyways.
The group thing is nice too because that means we make character relationships instead of randomly meeting new characters every corner and getting confused as to whos where/talking to who/being left out/so on.
I found with the other RPGs that i dont play anymore because of this, people who actually knew each other/talked more often, teamed up. As i only know the people i RP with and only really talk to Kyle, Ensifer and Aedan out of RP, my characters got left behind and i quickly didnt know what to do or where to go as there would be a page of everyone going separate ways and doing other things and even with multiple characters i hate RPing on my own, its like playing chess by yourself.
I also like the GM play as it keeps everything pretty tidy, the other RPG, including my own attempt, its quite easy to just go off in a totally wrong direction (exactly as mine did which made it impossible to save)
The only problem being in groups is as i said, waiting for posts which often come in waves. As we all know Aedan wont be posting so interaction with Dante is minimal and i bet when he is back we will hardly be posting. Im posting with Grunt to Hallow and Mia possibly with Royo, so on so on you get it haha!

Aha i've been there to Hasu. Thou i would to start mine up again but i have clue whats going on now, tis a shame.
Even though people post at different times or whenever you still know whats happening, well 90% of the time

I was worried you'd meant that you like it when the GM is also a player. I kinda have issues with that, and don't do it.

Oh, and as some groups get rolling again, I think there are some people that might not be back. I'm thinking of maybe recruiting a little to add some people to the two person groups.

Anybody mind or actively prefir new players? Hmmmm I should probably PM this...
