I just thought it'd be a good idea to have a thread about Smash bros. So what's your favorite? Least favorite? who do you main? Pretty much anything Smash goes, so post away.

As for me, I don't really have a favorite smash bros but I'm nearly unbeatable with Luigi in Brawl.

Well just recently, I began playing the original super smash bros and now I have a newfound respect for it, but I think Metal Mario should of been some kind of unlockable costume for Mario.

Favorite Character - Yoshi/Lucario
Least Favorite Character - Ness

Well you know me, the Melee player of the forum. Also known as the Smash guru, feel free to ask me anything Smash, I'm sure I'll do my best to answer any questions about the game including advanced techniques, how to do certain moves, combo's at certain percentages and all that good stuff. I enjoy all 3 Smash games so I don't have a least fav. though I do play Brawl the least.

Main characters:

N64- Falcon, Fox, Pikachu, Jigglypuff.
Melee- Sheik, Falcon, Marth, Fox, Falco, Link
Brawl- Falcon, Wolf, MetaKnight.

Yes, I play professionally/competitive by the way so if there's any arguments about certain players or junk like that I'm the guy to settle the score. =D

That post somehow reminds me. I was online reading a certain cheat containing a way to unlock Rainbow Yoshi as a costume for Yoshi on super smash bros[n64 edition]. Is this true?

If you're talking about all colors in one Yoshi, then no it's not. Not unless you texture hack which I haven't seen much for Ssb64. Other than that, no you can't unlock a rainbow colored Yoshi lol. Sorry to dissapoint.

I don't known SSB, but I own both SSBM and SSBB, but I've played Melee more than Brawl. On Melee I dominated with Fox, Sheik, Young Link, and Roy. Dr. Mario and Mr. Game and Watch are also fun to play with. My least favorites are Ness, Gannondorf, and Donkey Kong. Slow, bulky characters annoy me greatly. Peach is a cheater.

Goodness, you couldn't be more right. On Mario Kart 64, Peach could be way in last and your on your final lap closing near the finish lap where out of nowhere a princess dressed in pink shoots out five different shortcuts and wins the race.

True she does have the longest float time(5 seconds) but I don't see how she's a cheater? And when you mean slow and bulky, do you mean characters like DK and Ganondorf? And you do know that characters are divided into tiers right?(Though they don't mean anything.) Btw, Hardy, let's stay on topic for smash. =]

Its all related, Peach cheats too win in every single mario based game she's on, including Super Smash Bros Melee. Somehow when I play the game, she comes back from behind and dominates.. and somehow Ko's Bowser in like three shots out of no where's land.

Lol, that's not true, Peach is really floaty though she can get killed at low percentages depending on the stage. High ceiling stages such as Dreamland 64, Kongo Jungle 64, Pokemon Stadium, Final Destination(Melee stages by the way) are stages where Peach has a better chance at surviving on(Depending if it's NTSC version or PAL, PAL is third world country versions, NTSC is USA). A good Peach can survive up to at least near the 100%'s from a fully charged up-smash from Fox(Depending how good her DI, Direction Influence is.) Low ceiling stages such as Yoshi's Story, Fountain of Dreams, Rainbow Cruise, and Green Greens(Given the stage ban rule if you use it) are counter pick stages people choose against Peach cause she can KO'd but a good up smash from a Fox(Even with good DI it's hard to recover sometimes.) but I don't see how Peach is cheater. She's a high tier character, and unless you can give a reason(Such as moves or anything all characters are not "cheaters" unless AR is used or something like that. By the way, if you're interested in looking how to defeat a Peach, look for her match ups and it will show who she counters and who counters her. And rarely anyone plays Bowser vs. Peach unless they're a complete n00b or they KNOW the match up and know ways to get around Peach's moves and combo's. Cause with Peach you have to be really accurate. Especially with her turnips. Stitch face turnip ftw! After reading this very disorganized paragraph, you really have taken what I said in a different way than I intended. Saying Peach is a cheater is just something me and my friends use because she always wins at the end, in every game.

I know how to defeat her, trust me. I actually never said I couldn't, but she just always slides by that and wins in Melee / Kart 64 / Etc. This strange Peach curse evens goes onto Daisy in Mario Kart Ds.

How come someone is a n00b when someone places bowser and peach against each other? Its a fighting game and well that's the intention of a game, pitting different nintendo characters against each other. If I say she comes back when me and my friends play the game, then its true.

In SSBM however also with Mario, Falco and Y.Link.
SSBB: Pokémon Trainer and Pikachu.

It's funny, I joined a small gaming convention and they were playing SSBB. All these 'pro's' were so funny.

That's not true, at all. The top competitive players all play day in day out, utilizing every aspect of their character. They practise moves, master them, play against any character available and through experience they know what to expect.

If you want to make it 'to the top', you just have to join a lot of competitions and gain tons of experience. That's how Izaw did it, that's how Supahfly did it, that's how any pro does it.

Lol, playing was implied from the beginning, but reading also helps if you ever wanna make it to the "top". Lol, sorry for not mentioning it. And reading DOES help but of course experience and playing is the best way to get better. Sorry for not being clear on it. x] And I know, that's how I did it, and how I plan to keep on doing it. Izaw's a freakin' hero though, no lie. You know if he's going to Pound 4? Haven't seen anything about it.. btw, for all the pros and competitive players, anyone got their top 5 predictions for *Pound* 4?

This whole debate is dumb. My comment about Peach was half joking, though her tendency to float about just out of my reach irks me to no end. Isai/LegendKiller, you come off as pompous and self-serving, yet your many "lols" sort've ruin that. Hardy, I realize his paragraph was hard to read, but it's not because it's long per say. It's because it's not broken up into separate thoughts. That makes it sound disorganized.

I understand what he means by it being silly to pit Bowser against Peach, she's too fast for him to get any real good smashes off unless the player is really experienced. That's why I hate bulky characters.

Lends an air of desperation, randomness, and confusion to the match. "How many kills do I have? More than the guy next to me? Less? Have we died the same amount of times?" Things like that. I also play high-items and usually pick stages through the randomizer. Create your order from chaos!

My mains are Captain Falcon, Ganondorf, and Zelda.

LOL I know right! People ALWAYS do that. But most of the Smash community is pretty chill and relaxed..so it's rare I see that kind of stuff. x] And I know but it's fun to guess sometimes. =P All I know is that *Pound* 4 is gonna be awesome..
