Dantes' Inferno demo!!!

So I just got the demo of this game off the PSN.

I very much wasn't looking forward to this one simply because I didn't think we would see a demo this side of Christmas, but with that said when I put this game on I thought the atmosphere and feel was great and the opening cut-scene had brilliant graphics I thought I was in for a treat with this one.

But then the game play started and honestly both the in-game visuals and game play are extremely unimpressive for me I mean I don't expect every game to be a masterclass but why should we pay the same price for the ones that aren't y'know....???
This feels so dated and I am soooOOOO disappointed cos I really like the way the story is looking for this one.

Just wondering if you have played it and what you guys think.....?????

Though I should say the "beast rider" feature is good and the demo features quite a bit of nudity which I dont know about you guys but thats just not for me.
Final game out in Feb' I dont know if they will fix anything by then but I hope for a delay cos I really want this game to be good.

i actually found the demo very impressive on a technical level, not only was it very sharp at 720p but the framerate and animation was just so damn fluid. The gameplay, as i expected, was very underwhelming. Of all the God of War clones coming out next year, this one is by far the least promising. The combat was just so static feeling. Compared to the God of War 3 demo, Dante's Inferno is just a joke by comparison thus far.

It already rips GOW off relentlessly (and i have no complaints about that, i think its largely a good thing) so why in the world did they not rip off the fantastic combat like Castlevania: Lords of Shaddow is doing? Also the way the story unfolds in the demo is pretty sloppy, and the nudity was unsuccessful in making any impact other than "why?". At least in GOW they do it do pornographically thats its clear the intention there is "because we can"

I'm still very very impressed with how Dante's Inferno looks. The trailers dont do the graphics justice at all. One thing thats missing is that "flashiness" factor. Again, the GOW 3 demo is tons of style with just as much substance. And yes its fair to constantly judge it against GOW because thats exactly what they were going for. Thanks to the demo Dantes Inferno is still "meh" to me so here's hoping the new Castlevania will be better.

2010 is gonna be an epic year thanks to GOW 3 and all the clones coming out

The frame rate at 60 per second was great and unlike allot of the Hack and Slash games that Ive played their was no sign of motion blur or any juddering, However that wasn't my beef with this one...The things which I didn't like were....

1/Poor animations/physics system.
2/Lacking and unchallenging enemy AI
3/unimpressive background and level layouts
4/the character designs were way too poor when compared to that they used in the cut-scenes

I just think this game could have survived on the PS2 some years back but I should expect this one to crash in sales terms with its competition next year.I mean c'mon if Heavy Rain meets it Feb' deadline and this one comes out Feb' 12th I know where my money is going.

Yeah man I really didn't like Bayonetta but it is way better in terms of visuals and game play then Dante's' Inferno.

I really like the stylized combat of Bayonneta thats where it really shines for me, Dantes Inferno just looks mediocre, Ninja Gaiden 2 is my fav of the genre though they got it just right for me.

I thought the demo was incredibly fun. Of course developers are going to ride the coat-tails of other successful titles. It happens all the time. Personally, a game doesn't have to be groundbreaking to be a good and enjoyable experience.

I never read the entire Comedy, only Inferno. But being familiar with the source material actually just makes the presentation in what i've seen so far pretty disappointing.

Going along with Orchid's points above, the combat was pretty terrible. The enemies were waaaay too easy, making the dodge command pretty useless. However i thought the levels were nice enough. Makes sense considering a lot of the level design is from the same guy who did levels for God of War 2 and Metroid Prime. I actually wouldnt mind if this game implemented some post processing effects like motion blur or something--its really lacking in that visual pizazz.

Looks like there's going to be 4 different difficulty modes, so easiness might not be such an issue. When I played the demo on ''zealot'' mode, things were pretty easy, but I imagine that ''infernal'' mode is much harder.

With game play as crummy as this when you up the difficulty it wont improve the enemy AI at all it will probably just make you fight more people in the combat sequences (which are extremely repetitive)

Also in what world could you give this game a 8/10
For me the demo is a 5/10 at absolute best

I guess some people just don't know what quality is....My assessment is accurate the game runs 720p which is good for a demo but most games today run at 720p-1080i-1080p.
