I think that may be a good idea. If you were to kill yourself (and I don't mean that itself is a good idea), to leave a note. Partly to make sure the law understands it's a suicide and doesn't lock up a friend or family member for murder; and partly to explain your motivation for taking your life, typically that you don't blame your friends and family, etc., etc.
Hey look, Japan made a movie about me!
It is not a good idea to kill yourself. It is not worth it so dont bother with it. Death is interseting but it sad. If a person finds out about a death I dont think that they want to read a letter it could just make them fell worse.

But seriously, I think that suicide is the most stupid thing that one can do. (Well, unless in very few situations, something as awful as the Jonas Bros concert... )
Suicide rates have gone really high since the 90's. I wonder how could all those people kill themselves. Yeah, you're gonna say they were desperate and blah blah blah. But killing oneself in such circumstances simple means one thing: Giving up. If they didn't give up, they would have been alive by now. Their life could have become better by now.

Hmm >_> What a depressing thread!
It's an okay idea, I guess.
I wouldn't leave a note though.. I'd leave something much more memorable.
I support suicide and euthanasia for the terminally ill
(off topic xD)
But i can,t profess to be an expert on suicide notes and their respective meanings, but hey if someone wants to state a reason or put other peoples minds at ease with a note im all for that
If I ever decide to an hero, it will be on webcam, which is how I will express my final feelings, you have my word on it. It will probably be something as awesome as Kurt Cobain style (injecting yourself with the amount of junk enough to kill a damn horse and blowing a hole through your skull just in case), I'll just make it a bit more brutal, hoping that my suicide will be witnessed by enough kids to turn some of them into serial killers.
Okay... Please do not turn this thread into a depressive discussion that encourages committing suicide. There are people who depress when they read these topics, and this makes them have suicidal thoughts.
- living 24 of extreme pain and then dying
- or dying right now without pain
The choice is so simple. And it doesn't leave a mess or anything because people already know that you're dying anyway. But this can NOT be applied to one's whole life, when a normal person is living their life feeling depressed and hopeless. It's not like it because:
- Firstly, this is a situation that CAN be fixed
- And secondly, people do not know or expect you to die
Therefore, killing yourself means ending the chance to fix things, and causing a disaster among the people who love you. If you decide to stay alive, ANYTHING can be fixed.
Suicide is absolutely not a good thing. But on the case which Eris said, I don't think we can even consider it suicide.

No I mean if you leave a bloody mess when you an hero, blood is hard to clean up you know.
you have to leave a suicide note.........it's just common courtesy.
I would leave a note that would have every investigator and curious family member racking their minds for ages, but never be able to find the answer to. Like..."You'll never find me treasure!" or something along the lines of that.
Also,I MUST have this in my sig, may I, Cash-Lee?It is not a good idea to kill yourself.
"dude your user name is B.A! props! sounds like a stoner metal band *loves stoner metal*...i might steal it >.>"
If I were going to commit suicide, I'd probably leave a note stating that it wasn't anyone's fault, etc. I used to have suicidal thoughts all the time. I have them still, from time to time. It doesn't make sense. I have no reason for that feeling, no logic. Yet, it persists. However, unlike when I was younger, I understand what is going on, and know better than to seek out ways to fulfill it. I know that eventually it will pass. I think I lied before, when I said I got over depression. I think I've been chronically depressed in some manner for years. But I don't want to die. I seek distractions, until those feelings subside.
Now that I've gotten that off my chest - as was said, these threads can bring such things up - I don't feel that a terminally ill person is selfish for choosing death. IF someone in that situation, or facing a lifetime of pain wants to end it, I can understand. It's their life, and their choice. Hell, I think being blinded, deafened, or paralyzed would be enough for me to choose suicide.
Back to topic, this thread was about suicide notes. What do people usually write in a suicide message?
I've seen a suicide message written by a young girl like this: "Mommy, daddy, <names of brother and sister>, <name of boyfriend>, I love you all. I'm so sorry.", or something like that.
If you were to write a suicide message, what would you write in it?
I just read something here about suicide rates going up since the 90's
well surely they would have sky rocketed in the last couple of years
but they were investment bankers...so i see this as a good kind of ethnic cleansing(admittedly self inflicted and bankers are a race yes...a race of well.....bad expletive words)
Nice thread misguidance. Well, a close familiar and friend of mine just killed herself almost four weeks ago, and again, no prior note or clear reasons why. Many paranoiac assumptions have been made, so I believe that even if she had left a note, people would still have doubts and whatnot.
My opinion is that leaving a Note is useless. Even if it would explain why, or lay out a Last Will, people never want to take it seriously. And sometimes, you don't have to take time to plan your death; sometimes, it just occurs.
Suicide is never the answer. Then you believe that your life is in vain. It is selfish and stupid. Yes it is interesting and all that but no its not worth it.
I would never cause my family so much pain. Ya sure TheThunderBringer, do as you pls.
