DSi or PSP Go?

I need some advice, I’m thinking of buying a Nintendo dsi. I know theres a lot of wifi features that are pretty cool. Connect to facebook and yahoo. And the other perks of course the games…. But then again is it worth the price? Or should I just save up to buy a psp go? That’s pretty cool too right? Nice graphics and everything. Can anyone weigh on the pros and cons of each? Or have you guys encountered any problems with any of them?

I would advise the DSi instead of the PSP Go, Because there are good features on the DSi and even though the PSP Go has a 16 Gig Drive, it Only comes out to be 14 Gig and not much cool games are out to be downloadable until later in the year. Many downloadable games turn out to be 400MB to 1.5Gig for each game downloaded. So most in games you could save into the psp go is 18 to 21 games, that's without photo's ,videos and songs. Even a M2 Micro Memory card will come out to be a 4 Gig for $40 on the Psp go. The price for the PSP Go is $250 which i bought turned out to not be as fun as i thought it would be.


I like the DSi because of the camera aand the wifi as you said. The memory card for the DSi is worth it because i got a 4 Gig Memory Card for $20. Camera is Awesome and fun and you can take up to almost 3500 pictures with it on the memory card. The DSi is only $140 with tax turn out to be around $148 to $152. Only $120 used.

Even though I am a PSP Type person, I would advise you to get the DSi, because of price and the fun you'll have with the camera.

who wants to have to download a game each time you want a new one how can you play other fokes games if you cant slot it into your psp?

Well, the PSP Go doesn't use UMDs which can be a problem for most people who have a grudge agaisnt downloading but at least you don't have to worry about the games and other stuff in the PSP Go when you already have the game in the system if you forget them at home.

DSi you still need the games but it has a ton of more features than the DS like take a picture and record voice overs. HOWEVER, THE DSi DOES NOT, I REPEAT, DOES NOT HAVE A GBA SLOT. Especially when you play Pokemon Diamond, Peral, and Plantium.

Really, it's up to you. It's just a matter of preference.

I debated this very question recently. I already have a DS Lite, but I obtained so much store credit from this place called CeX that I decided to buy either a DSi or PSP Go with the credit.

I ended up with the DSi because of the games and am selling my DS Lite to my friend. The slightly bigger screen and better sound is certainly nice. The cameras are nothing to write home about but will be handy when the DSi exclusive games come. If you care about sound quality, at all, I would advise not using the DSi as a music player.

I have no hands on experience with any of the PSPs; I can't give you a fair analysis of one.

The perks of each system are nice, but it should really come down to which portable has games that appeal to you most. And honestly, if you like what Nintendo's system has to offer, I might recommend just getting the DS Lite unless you really feel like you want to DSi features and don't mind that it doesn't play GBA games. It's also almost half the price of the PSP Go.

I got a psp 3000 recently, the go is one of the stupidest ideas Sony ever had. You have to download the games from your psp and if you already own any umds, they won't do diddly squat lol. I've also got a DS lite, not an i and it's pretty good. It all depends on the games you like.
I like the Pokemon games on DS, and some of the puzzle games are pretty addictive aswell. The PSP has better graphics and games like FF Dissidia, GTA and God of War.
The PSP is better if you plan on watching movies, not sure about the internet with DSi, but it's pretty easy on the PSP.

first, because lets be real, the graphics and the machine are more powerful, but the other factor i find useless is the ability to play movies. if i wanna watch movies on a tiny screen i will use my ipod and watch movies for...well lets say cheaper

plus there are other acessories (r4 card..cough...not saying i have one), that allow me to preview a game before i buy it. i mean we all know there are some companies or games that just pop out media asap in hopes of a sale while jipping us, the customer, by selling an inferior, boring, or just plain bad game (all platforms are guilty of this IMO). so i like the fast that i can check a game out before i buy it to make sure i am going to like it. just like sampling songs on the web before buying the entire cd.

i still think sony makes top notch products. the ps3 in japan i bought for only 480 and its region free (also comes in silver, white, and black) for everything. After the price stopped being ridiculious i would say its the best system i have bought ever, and would put it far above xbox and wii.

I say go for the DSi. It has tons of games, better sound, even a camera. Get a regular PSP rather than a GO. The GO just looks odd. ><

For me DSi is better. Because you can play more games there like Gameboy games, & DS games. Plus, it has a built-in camera that you can take photos of yourself.

Buy a regular DS. The DSi is an utter failure in my book since the only new advancement is...wait for it...a CAMERA! And not a Gamera camera either (Godzilla reference), but a crappy cellphone quality camera. Not only that you can probably find a really cheap DS for 40 dollars over a 170 dollar DSi.

I was gonna say 'just buy a normal psp' but the amount of games as compared to the DS is almost minscule, but the amount of games you may like would be greater in the PSP. But since this is the PSP-Go vs. DSi, I'd go with DSi. Though I don't own one seeing as my DS Lite has yet to break(my DS did. The touch screen messed up.)
