Kacricon Cacooler Spoiler alert! Kacricon was one of the three original Titan test pilots for the Gundam Mark II. At the time of his death, he was likely the best of the three(my personal opinion). Although Kamille Bidan gets credit for killing him, Cacooler was in re-entry and had no way to defend himself.

Can't vote (I submitted Leo-N), but I'll give a short analysis.


Pilot Skill:

Kacricon: Though Kacricon's team is somewhat newb, he's the senior among them despite barely having much age difference (he just looks much older than he is), being Titans (technically somewhat elite) means he is either an established veteran or had very good grades in the academy.

Brooks: He's an established Ace among the Stardust Knights being member of a supreme elite force.


Comparison Details:

Kacricon screws up slashing Camille's mk II in momentum during his last fight, Brooks can catch Gundam Geminas by grappling it barehanded midflight. Though, Kacricon had a handicap with gravity and a Newtype opponent, Brooks' unit was the worst among his comrades to face the Gundam (its armored, but you still don't tank high powered beam weapons relying on the hull and his Leo is sluggish compared with a gundam, forcing him to retreat in the first encounter due to losing an arm after gettign caught off guard not suspecting the Geminas to be so fast. Being too slow for your opponent isn't really a good thing if your main capacity is melee).


Units:

-Marasais, though they are the latest innovation of Anaheim Electronics, are simply mass-produced fodder. The main "features" from zeon-engineering adapted units usually include mono-eye sensors, improved responsiveness and power management, it kinda helps for mass-producing them but its not an ace unit. The Marasai, being a planned Mainstream MS, is fairly balanced with beam rifle and sabres.

-Leo-N features a well armored Leo with improved thrust, but its armaments are rather limited; Brooks completely ignores ranged weapons alltogether save for some some Vulcans on the torso, its probably good for taking other Leos up front provided that those don't jack as much against the armor and torso vulcans are good help when meleeing (see blue destiny and to some extent GW scenes, where they make no sense against the armor).


Comparison details:

The units get somewhat balanced due to the fact that while Leo-N can't just tank beam rifles, his vulcans actually jack against a Marasai. But still, Leo-N is an ace unit, it might be sluggish compared to Gundam Geminas, but that was Gundam Geminas mind you.


The battle is pretty balanced; Overall, I think Brooks in Leo-N is better in "total", but he's also more likely to die in a boring way by being shot down before any sabering happens and even less likely to win gunfights under minovsky particles, as long as there is more distance than melee range, he's at slight disadvantage, the problem is this is the condition that comes first (unless for some odd reason they start the fight within an arm's reach already).

I'll go with Brooks on this one. Although Titan's status is given to those who have "earned it," just look at Jerid. He got good grades in the academy, and yet he's considered elite. Don't know enough about Kacricon...Brooks is obviously an ace pilot, and while manning a slower MS, a good pilot can usually make up for a suit's shortcomings.

I'm with danielsakae on this one. Karicorn has the better suit, but Brookes is the better pilot (in my opinion). Range isn't really a problem for either unit. As a matter of fact, Brookes has the advantage because if he DOES in fact get close to the Marasai, Karicorn will ride on bullseye. I believe Brookes would own so he gets my vote.

how do you consider a fodder unit better than a rigged up ace unit? The only thing a Marasai has "over" Leo-N is a beam rifle and thats only a piece of equipment. Its probably just not his style.

Imagine giving Kira the Twin Buster Rifle... Ok. maybe not the best example, but given the weapons to what both units have, Marasai has the better one. The beam machine gun penetrates through armor. Hell, I'm sure you watch SEED and see BRs go through the PS Armor. The Leo don't even have that featrue, making him a fodder for the Marasai in long range. Point Blank is where this Leo kicks in. Sorry. I said Marasai was the better unit, ONLY because it has the Beam Rifle. Perfomance-wise Leo can top Marasai. I'm just saying a difference in weapons helps tips favors in battles. In this case, Marasai's mass produced aspects is balanced by having the Beam Machinegun. No Pun intended on the Leo. XP

Its not a beam machinegun, its just a beam rifle. Every popular canon appearance of Marasais has it using a basic beam rifle. Also, Marasai's aren't exactly well armored so save for the shield partition it blows up from a few well placed heavy vulcan rounds just as much as it would from a beam shot.

But why is it a beam machinegun in Gundam Vs Zeta Gundam? It's rapid-fire nonetheless, so I assumed it's a machinegun. Unless they just made it "seem" like a machinegun in the game. But what about Minovsky Particles? Won't that screw up the Leo's aiming system?

It just gives short bursts at cost of damage per shot in that game, not rapid fire.

Basically if they aren't starting melee range Kacricon gets a short time window where he's slightly more likely to win until it shifts the closer they are to eachother.

well actually the low participation ratio speaks more for discussions rather than full tournaments. If there are no rules as in who can be submitted Ideon will just win, closely followed by Turn A's protagonist and antagonist units and then haxed up NTs like Kamille together with G Gundam protagonists and some thrown in SD Gundams.


Gundam teirs (I named the teirs, don't attempt to find acceptance elsewhere):

God Teir: Stuff that requires you to divide by zero to beat them

-Ideon (God, literally, its even the strongest mecha outside gundam)

Uber Teir: Ridiculously broken stuff, nigh invincible and all, the "nigh" part seperates them from god teir

-Devil Gundam (Assimilates the Planet, self-revives, spawns endless army, assimilates the defeated to its army)
-God Gundam (Super Speed, ability to multiply itself and many more factors)
-Generally anything from G Gundam thats major
-Musha Gundam and generally a lot of main SD Gundams (not all though)
-Divinidad (Eradicate mankind)
-Legion Imperator (Eradicate... everything)

Super Teir: Generally they are High Teir in power, but possess an ability of sorts that makes them much more powerful

-Turn A (deletes technology)
-Turn X (deletes technology)
-Kamille in Zeta Gundam (Shuts your unit down)
-Amuro in Nu or Hi Nu Gundam (Becoming nigh-invincible, mind crushing)
-Gromlin Fossil (self-regenerates)
-Tera S'Ono (command an army of MS, hijacks controls of your MS)

Main Teir: It gets "fair" from here on, no all too broken abilites, but precognition mostly known to NTs can still make a big difference, mostly protagonists are found here (Kira in SF, Seabook in X-1 FC, etc.)

High Teir: Anything thats extremely skilled and powerful without extreme exploitation of a "cheat" ability like precognition. Some Protagonists and very skilled characters start here, Minor NTs that aren't as awakened but nonetheless skilled and Heero Yui/Wing Zero Custom are here.

Advanced Teir: Your average "Above average skilled ace", including some "weak" protagonists as well as telltale aces. Shirou Amada in EZ-08 WITHOUT full potential is here.

Average Teir: Your average pilot, from mediocre to moderately skilled.

Low Teir: People who have graduated from OZ survival Academy and learned the basics of standing in place and shooting, underage Zeon pilots, the guntank form the museum or pilots who'd otherwise be average teir but stuck in a ridiculous unit.

Joke Characters: Things like B Gundam, Meer Campbell in a Pink unarmed LIVE Zaku, and stuff brought up more for humour than for actual contest.

Well, there's just not enough people to be buggered about a huge tournament. and be extensively active and vote before everyone else gets bored. I mean if you post one battle at a time thats one thing because its safe to leave it to rot but if you have 50 others scheduled and lined behind it then it gets like this.

Do something that doesn't require immediate attention of everyone for now, like make your squad better in the other thread or something or at least don''t end up with 20+ nominees in an extensive tournament if you don't plan to wait very long for the votes on each battle.
