Considering they are a traditional irish ring, I think many people disagree. I for one do. I have one. I love it. To me it does symbolize all of the necessary parts of a true relationship: Love, Trust, Loyalty.
I see it as a beautiful representation of a love. As with all jewelry it all depends on the artisan crafting it. I've seen some ugly rings, I've seen some beautiful ones... just like I've seen ugly diamonds and beautiful ones. It all depends on the crafting, like any jewelry and art.

American Irish people amuse me. They are way, WAY more irish than actual irish people, you know like all over traditions and stuff people who actually live in the country don't give a damn about.
My theory is that since most Irish->American immigration happened during the 19th century, they were tainted by the romantic cultural movement at the period (that just loved to "improve" traditions and culture to fit it's own ends)
Hey look, Japan made a movie about me!
Ex boyfriend was Irish "McNew" and "Murphy", which is where I received the ring from (we dated for 8.5 years). I am not Irish, but still think it is a beautiful concept.
