anyone have any advice?

hello, i drew this today,i copied from a picture infront of me just so u know im not trying to take credit.....BUT it is my first ever real attempt at drawing something and i would like to know what people thought of it, and also would like any tips u might have to offer me. btw i am a complete noob at drawing.

very nice drawing. i ofcourse, am an even bigger drawing noob, b/c a drawing as such far proceeds my caliber of expertise on the matter, but i can appreciate art. Greet first attempt at rukia

Well I would say it is pretty good for a first try. As far as advice goes. You could have added more detail on other parts of the character besides the hair. Also it is good that you don't plan on taking any credit because tracing is a form of art theft unless you get permission from the one who created the art.

thanks guys ^^. but i didnt trace it,the pic was on my computer screen, i just looked at the pic and drew.but if you were to ask me to draw it again without looking at anything i would have no chance in a million years,but i plan on changing that with alot of effort and practice

It's awesome, oh and to think that its your first try. For me it'll be more nice if you're going to make its body. And I think you can draw without a reference. Hope to see more from you.

its nice, thats how i draw characters from anime or manga
yea, its really well done maybe try something bigger next time? youll love the challenge, well i hope so ^^

I think its a nice drawing of her. You made her seem innocent, shy and afraid. Totally made me see Rukia in a new light. I like it

thanks guys, made me feel a little more confident ^^. but i still cant draw without a reference whenever i attempt it it always mucks up, i need to learn the basics of drawing because if i try to draw w/o a reference i never know where to start and if i do i dont know how to make it look like the picture i have in my head

, so if you guys know any good books or sites that you have learnt from please share with me as i really feel passionate about drawing since i done that picture of rukia, though it isnt an original peice by myself i still feel i have achieved something, or maybe im just babbling on from staying up all night watching 21 episodes of death note lol, anyway thanks for your comments and i will definatly post more pics when i do some ^^

ok, so its been a month since my last post and i have been drawing on my computer,i drew this in paint and imported it into inkscape and made it a vector image. its only a face but can you guys tell if i have improved at all since my pic of rukia? bearing in mind i had a reference for rukia,but i just done this off the top of my head

Heeheee!! It's really cute! I like it! It looks funny to me cause it looks like a guy not to happy wearing a pink bow on his head. Well that was my first thought when I first looked at it, Then I looked at it again... Yeah it still looks like it. Nothing wrong with that either people see different things. I also like you Rukia Picture that you drew, pretty good for your first attempt! Better then mine actuality... Just keep at it, practice and the you more you do, the better you'll get. But it will take time. So don't rush to much K. Good Job!

lol now that u mention it, it does look like a guy but as long as the eyes,nose and mouth are in the right place i will be happy, because that was the biggest challenge when trying to draw on paper.Thats why i was drawing on the computer.with all mistakes i made the paper got dirty and messy and i kept losing my temper

. anyway my next pic probably will be on paper........hopefully :P

ok guys thats the end of my drawing story, i am giving up. ive been trying to draw a picture allll day and got no where, went through like 30 sheets of paper and used a full eraser, so yeah its been good but thats it for me, i mean look at my first pic that was like the best i have ever done and its all down hill from there i mean just loook at the state of the pic of zangetsu *sigh*, well anyways ill still come on here to look at all your pics coz i still like art but im not the type of person to create it. laterz
