On the 29th September 2009, Dell unveiled its newest type of Laptop - the Dell Latitude Z600.

What does it make so special, you might ask: well, it is (I think) the first laptop to have ever entered the market that does not need a charging cable.

Dell unveiled the new ultra-thin Dell Latitude Z 16-inch laptop. The Dell Latitude Z600 is according to Dell the thinnest, lightest 16-inch notebook in the world. The thin design (0.57 inch is not the only advanced feature as Dell introduced several industry firsts such as wireless docking and inductive charging with the Dell Latitude Z series.

I don't get it. So now you have to bring an enormous recharging stand with you if you bring your laptop somewhere and it may need recharging.

Sure, there's no cable from the laptop to the recharger, but there's a cable from the recharger to the power socket, and you still need the recharger.

Yes, there is a difference. Instead of carrying a cable, you'll have to carry a cable AND a charger.

Lol, I'm sure there's a normal cable for charging it as well. It looks like it has some interesting features, but I wouldn't say this is anything especially noteworthy. The wireless charging thing is still a gimmick rather than an actually useful solution.
