How fast does your computer boot?

I run Slackware 13.0 x86_64, and give or take a few seconds, here's my boot time:

BIOS -> Operating system boot: ~20 seconds
Operating system boot -> Login ~30 seconds
Login -> Usable desktop: ~15 seconds


Not half bad. Though I've gotten my laptop to boot a minimal linux system in less than 9 seconds (and that is not bad, considering it's pretty old)

My system boots to the XP desktop in about a minute. After that, it takes another minute or so because my AV is slow to come up.

AMD 64X2 5600
4GB DDR2...1066 I think, whatever, it matches what the mobo asks for.
I think the motherboard is a Gigabyte.
896MB GeForce GTX 260

It takes a moment to power the video card up when it comes on, I think my power supply is at the very limit of its capacity. No crashes or troubles, though. I'll get a bigger one sometime in the future, should the need arise. I don't mind waiting a couple minutes. I turn it on and go get stuff from the fridge, usually.

That is pretty good if you ask me. Mine takes about 2 minutes to do everything cause I have a few start up programs.

My current crapbox is a 2002 windows XP dell desktop. I used to have a laptop but it broke and I was too finacially strapped to repair/get a new one, so i'm stuck reformatting this one tonight so that it at least runs smoothly and I can get things done.

Typically it takes about 1 minute to bootup and get to the "welcome" screen, and another 30 seconds to load the desktop.

I'm really in the dark ages of techology. ;_;

Mine takes 1 minute with just widgets and speech recognition loading. When I have MSN load too...well...takes another 30 sec.

Mine takes about 2 minuts and 37 seconds to boot up from switching it on till a usable desktop

40 seconds. Somehow goes alot faster if I have a desktop bg.

BIOS to Logon Screen: ~ 48 sec - Password Protected
Logon Screen to Desktop: ~ 37 sec - It took around 10 - 15 sec to detect and connect to the wireless network
Total: ~ 1 min 35 sec

my ps3 is basically a mini computer...hmm. i would estimate...after turning it on and then going to the browser. i would say less than 30 seconds.

A few minutes? From turning it on to going to the log-on page takes the longest.

Myn can take anywhere between 5 minutes and 5 days. I have only 500 MB ram so I takes a good while with all the programs that have to boot.

My gaming PC takes 1 minute, 10 seconds to get to a usable desktop on Vista +/- time spent entering a password.

My labtop takes... longer.

About 45 seconds to a full minute for my pc to load. Not counting logging in.
