Your taste in earbuds/headphones

So you get your earbuds/headphones/thingamajiggs to listen to whatever it is you want to listen to. So when you're looking for them, what do you look for? The usual, round, wedge-in-your-ear types? Ones with a wraparounds that hang onto your ear?

For my part, I found these really nice ones that have a foam peice that you insert into your ear like an earplug, so you get good sound AND they actually stay in your ear.

I'm into big ones that cover my ears. Warm and cozy, and great sound quality. I also typically check so the frequency range is good. At least 20-22,000 Hz, preferably 15-22,000 Hz.

Those are the best, but they aren't exactly inconspicuous. I use those most go the time, but at school I go with foam piece buds, since those are easy to hide.

I really don't listen to music outside of my home, so conspicuousness isn't an issue.

skullcandy's are the best. The bass for these headphones are amazing especially since listen to metal. Overall good quality but after 3 months for me they start getting all messed up and don't really work anymore. im thinking i may try to get a pair with birthday money. I hate ipod headphones they suck.

I suck at tiny earpluggs. They never stay in. Or they fall on the floor and get dirty so I get ear infections. God clearly intended man to wear full sized headphones.

Well I like the sound canceling ones with soft pads for your ears. But those tend to be prety pricey.

Much like Eris, I go for round-ear or on-ear headphones. I hate in-ear headphones; they almost always (99.99999% of the time) have low quality audio output, not to mention they hurt.

When I listen to music, I want to hear as much as possible (granted, this is limited by the digital format). This holds true for my laptop which has very powerful speakers, my home stereo system, and usually my headphones.

I had a fantastic pair of RCA studio headphones which broke while I was at AnimeExpo08, and since then I've been using these SkullCandy on-ear headphones, which are better than you'd think they'd be, while I save up for a better pair. I'm currently looking at a pair of Bose headphones, which will cost me a very pretty penny.

I hate ear buds. I strongly dislike the headphones that wrap around the back and hang off your ears. I tolerate the headphones that lay flat against your ears.

Like Eris, my preference is for the headphones that cover the ears. When I wear headphones, it's because I'm trying to both enjoy my music while not being obnoxious to people around me (folks have different tastes in music; I'm fine with that). Headphones that cover the ears give me the best sound quality and minimize the amount of noise that bugs neighbors in public places. I'd love a pair of Bose headphones, or something of similar quality, but audio gear is so low on my priority list I forgot it was there until reading this thread.

i go for sound quality over size/portability these days. i have a nice pair of sony noise cancellng headphones that sound fantastic. they arent wraparound but pretty darn close to that size. when i'm walking around campus or something, i use some black skullcandy ear buds.

I used to have wedge ones but now I have in-ear ones and LOVE them. They are Philips headphones (I trust Philips for most of my electronics; my MP3 player is from Philips too) but I plan on saving up some money for Skull Candy headphones.

What works best for me is two speakers attached to a coat hanger bent in the shape of a hat.

=O I love the Ear-buds that go into your ears, with the soft foam padding =D And either in Black, Grey, or White color, but I can't seem to find durable ones x_x mine has always broken...

How come nobody mentioned canalphones? I bought some Sennheisers last year and pretty much every problem I had with earbuds is gone. Of course, the sound quality is slightly lower than that of some much cheaper earbuds, but I'm listening mostly to lo-fi music anyway, so it doesn't matter.

I like the ones you wedge in your ear. Sure, when I'm at home I'll pull out my big clunky wrap around headphones, but I usually listen to music when I walk and I want to avoid standing out around here so I'll wedge in those babies and be on my way.

I love them!! Headphones make my ears hurt, and the other type that you put in your ear (I have no idea what they are called) always fall out. And they make my ears hurt as well.

But with these, you can actually put them in your ear so they don't fall out (they have different sized plugs as well, so if your ears are bigger you just use the bigger ones). And they block out most outside noise. But the main reason I love them is because they don't make my ears hurt.

I bring my iPod with me just about everywhere so I find that ear-buds are best for not taking up a lot of room. I use ear-buds from Sony. I actually like the sound quality I get with them.

I hate those ear buds that have one normal length ear bud and one really really long one to wrap around your neck. Those are really inconvenient (probably mostly for girls though).

I like the ones that come with your iPod. They're light and easy to use.

Yes I agree I love those also. They make me look like a DJ when I wear them with my hat on.

I use the earphones that come with my iPod and I have no complaints.
I don't like headphones because they hurt my ears when I have my glasses on.
And as for canalphones, I've never tried them before. Maybe I'll give it a try and who knows, I might like it more than my earphones.

i like those too. but i also go for the mark. i only buy sony , theyre really good quality and durable
