Default [Help - Hardware] Question - Upgrade?

Soo, my computer is really old.
It's a Dell Dimension 2400 series with an Intel Pentium4 CPU 2.80GHz, and 768 mb of rams (already upgraded the ram once, there are no more slots available).
I was wondering if it would be worth it to upgrade the ram. I'm hoping both slots are upgradable, but knowing Dell, the the default ram slot isn't (Is there an easy way to check this?)

Could anyone tell me about how much of a performance increase I'd be looking at if I were to upgrade?
Right now the computer works alright, obviously no hardcore gaming or anything, but I browse the web, work in photoshop, etc.

Oh yeah, I'm running Windows XP 32 bit OS

RAM is rarely a significant performance bottleneck, and in your case, the RAM is pretty well balanced for your computer.

In this case, you're definitely better off saving your money for a newer computer.

According to this, your system should be fine for a couple more years. Upgrading your RAM is worthy if you really need it. 768MB of RAM is pretty much enough for what you mostly do. I used PhotoShop CS3 on an Athlon 850Mhz with 768MB of RAM and worked properly. I just couldn't open images above 3000x3000px. JAVA 1.6 lagged while using AF chat, but it was fine with the 1.4.2 version. I would recommend an upgrade only if you have programs that make your computer slow down or don't work at all.

Alright guys, thanks so much for the responses, I really appreciate it.
I guess I'll just keep saving up for a new computer altogether.
