Viz!!!! Is sooo much better than Bandi... I also like Funimation.
"Remember's I say's it out of LOVE!!"
Bulma: The OP said manga distributor, not anime, since as far as I know FUNi only does anime.
For me:
Viz: lots of great shonen/seinen selection, and some shojo. Occasional edits like FMA's "Greed cross" and Naruto's "drunk Lee" are annoying, but only happen on rare occasions
Del Ray: nice, diverse selection. Notes at the end of each volume help a lot with any cultural references and such
Yen Press: best paper quality of the manga companies. Unfortunately, only have a few series (Bamboo Blade, Soul Eater, Haruhi light novels, and I'm considering the Higurashi manga) that I'm interested in
Everyone else, I either only have a few series from (Gantz from Dark Horse, Fruits Basket from Tokyopop, Gurren Lagann and Gunbam 00 from Bandai), or am not too impressed.
Viz. Specifically for their Signature line which has some really great manga including; Solanin, What a Wonderful World!, Phoenix, Monster, 20th Century Boys, Pluto, Uzumaki, Tekkon Kinkreet and Detroit Metal City among others.
I'm a big fan of Seven Seas. I think they're the exception to the whole, "Nobody from America can actually write" stigma that seems to hang around anime fans. I find the mangas they publish are unique and original, and yes, well drawn an dgood looking.
All my Let's Plays can be found here!
Currently LPing: Rome Total War:
Latest Update:
Chapter 3: The Last King of Carthage.
Start from the beginning:
Chapter 1: Sicily Unified.
Viz media and Dark horse. Tokyopop aren't bad its just that they do some really awful titles for all the good ones they bring out.
Congrats, you're one of the coolest people on the forum.
I personally like Viz for their new Sigikki line. I no longer have to track down Ikki magazines on ebay and not understand a word of what's going on. Sorry Del Rey, but until you release something like gekiga or stuff like Sigikki, Viz has that place in my heart.
I like Del Monte
