I'm ridiculously impressed! the screenshots looked nice but i didnt imagine it would look this good in motion. I played the ps3 demo and i was expecting a lot less (unreal engine on ps3 doesnt have a great history so far). holy junk in mah trunk! great AA, stable framerate, no screen tearing that i saw, and just gorgeous character modeling (if a bit....muscular)
the gameplay was really fun too, dunno if i like how close up the camera is when youre just walking. it pulls back for combat, sneaking, and running though. whats interesting is they made it so that unarmed thugs are childs play, but anyone with a gun is a serious threat. when fighting hand to hand there's a crap ton of combat assistance (which makes sense, batman is a brawler) but if the enemy has a gun the assistance switches off. so batman wont automatically swoop toward an enemy when you push the attack button. instead he'll punch the air in front of him before getting pelted with lead.
the upside of the combat assit is you look land feel like a total badass when taking down groups of thugs. the downside? not half as satisfying as something like Ninja Gaiden, where skill and reflex demands create a learning curve
did i mention how hot the graphics are? well, the environments and character models at least. particle effects and fire look pretty...meh. cant wait to play the xbox demo and see how it measures up
