Some grammar help?

Hey guys. I've been looking over Japanese grammar pages for a bit and I came across this:

日本語　が　好き　でも　フランス語　は　きらい　です。
nihongo ga suki demo furansugo wa kirai desu.
I like Japanese, but I hate French.

I was wondering why it's "フランス語はきらいです。" and not "フランス語がきらいです。" Or is it just a typo or something?
I'd appreciate the help.

は in this construction is meant to show the contrast between the two parts of the sentence. I like Japanese but I hate French.

The but is already apparent in the　でも but the フランス語はきらい just further imply the contrast between 好き and きらい
