I agree Elfen Lied and H2O Footprints in the sand, also the end of Gungrave, and Full metal Alchemist, there were parts in strawberry panic I also found a littel sad, and then not really sad but it did make me cry is when I finished the second season of school rumbel and I didn't have the third one it made me feel a littel empty inside.

Full Moon wo Sagashite, Elfen Lied, Air, and Fruits Basket all touched me deeply. I even remember that Full Moon's ending made me cry until my eyes started to hurt. Really, really good animes...

As for the thread, I would have to go with Fruits Basket. No other series has made me so emotional. Whether it be happiness, sadness or anger(I get seriously frustrated over some of the developments), nothing has moved as much as Fruits Basket.

Each one was endearing in their own right. Certainly not the happiest of endings, but endings don't Have to Be happy to be special. Its the ones that get you in the back of the throat that you remember the most.
