Any serious magical girl animes...?

Do any of you have any suggestions for any serious-ish magical girl animes, in MY opionion I like Nanoha more because it's not the whole pinky pinky thing. So yeah, I've seen Nanoha (all 3 series) and I wish to watch more really good magical girl animes!

If Rayearth counts as a Magical Girl Anime I could recomend tht to you. It is only the Rayearth OVA I have seen not the Magic Knight series but it was pretty good and was more serious than comedy.
