Top Three Anime Characters EVER

I have to ask, who are everyone's top three favorite anime characters of all time? (Top three female and top three male)

Now, someone might point out that my favorite male character and my favorite female character are completely different. One is a homicidal zombie, the other one is the sweetest person on the planet. What gives? My answer is...I'm weird, deal with it.

[Forgotten Show]

1) Spike Spiegel! Main protagonist of one of the greatest anime shows out there, and one of my favorite shows period (anime or not). The dude's just freakin' cool. Hard to top this man.

2) Second place belongs to Rukia Kuchiki from Bleach; she's probably the most rounded character on the show, and is easily the most consistent and believable.

3) Shinji Hirako of Bleach. His character is also quite fleshed out compared to most others of both the show he features in and several others I've seen, and I think is a good balance between silly and serious. I may or may not share particular behavior traits with this character, as well.


I've a few others thought up that fall into "honorable mention" (Ed from Cowboy Bebop, Kakashi from Naruto, etc.), but the three above are still my favorites.


Bad Memory

Male:
1. Guts (Berserk) The guy's a relentless beast. Gotta respect that.
2. Alucard (Hellsing: Ultimate) He knows the score, he will do his job & won't hold back.
3. Akisame-sensei (Kenichi: World's Mightiest Disciple) I like that he doesn't mind peaceful resolution, but will put you thru the grinder if he has to.

Female:
1. Deunan Knute (Appleseed) This is the same for Caska, but they're (I think) well-rounded character who weren't just made into eye candy.
2. Caska (Berserk)
3. Miu Furinji (Kenichi: World's Mightiest Disciple) She's eye candy, sure, but she's also a sensible young woman & a powerhouse in a fight.

I think by far the coolest character because he did it all without a single super power, he was just a teenager.

So calm and collected, charming and has pretty awesome friggin phone :P.

Anyone who can kill by thrusting their arm through someone's chest has to be on my top three.
