Career Choice?

Now that (almost) everyone has advanced their education another year, it's time to ask the question! What do you plan to do during your miserable existence?

I'm practically a teacher. I believe this is my calling. Other careers I have considered include writer, actuary, and drag king. Can you make a living off of that?

Yeah you can, if you drag illegaly then you drag for money paid in cash after you won, and professionally you can make alot dragging.

I'm a programmer, finished my studies in may, but I'm not all that confident in my skills seeing as I forget things really quick.

I'm still at school, but everyone is being asked about their futures and what they want to do/ be later on.
The big thing is what to study in yr 12, most people know, but I don't.
I'm really nervous about VCE though.

I plan to become a computer engineer. At first, I was going to be a doctor to follow my mother's footsteps, but I talked to her about it and in the end I chose to be a computer engineer and nothing else.

As an Illustration/animation major, I can do many things with my Bachelor in Fine Arts degree, people/connections I know, and reputation from my school.

I can easily work in any animation, character design, costume, set, storyboard, layout, color, and props department of a movie studio or video game company.

I can work for a magazine, newspaper, and book publication corporations.

Display my work at a gallery or museum as a side job for extra money.

Commercials like the country of why not for Royal Caribbean and so forth.

Museum curator and art director.

Court room or wanted artist for the city.

Part time professor until I gain my masters and have experience in the industry to teach full time which is a decade or more.
I plan on being an character design illustrator for either Sony Playstation Studio, Pixar, Dreamworks, Naughty Dog, or That Game Company.

I'm actually a Film Major, but I have a lot of theater, english, and writing under my belt. I've thought about being a teacher, since all my other optimal career choices are pretty dicey. (Film, Writing, Journalism, Acting.) I've had people who told me to go into counseling, but I'm not sure I could handle other peoples problems.

Teaching is the sort of profession that you should never go into lightly. You'll only make yourself and your students miserable. But, it makes for a nice backup plan, in case your other choices fall through. Just keep your options open.

My ideal occupation is being a NEET.

Since I've been told by none other than my own family that I have no chances of being able to hold a real job, ever, I'll be moving on to graduate school after completing my undergraduate studies in political science.

After that, I'll be lucky if I can make a living teaching as a part-time lecturer at some second-rate university or another (prospects for post-docs in my country are pretty grim).

I'm an armed guard right now, and later I will be doing the paperwork and testing to be a police officer. Maybe next year or so.

right now I have no job, I never wanted a career. the employment I want is the kind of job where the work is easy and I get on with the other workers kinda like my last job in retail.

My career choice defines itself as very vague.
Either some kind of NGO, or ending up with a desk-job as clerk in some dusty institution on whatever level.
Although the prospects of joining the EU bureaucratic staff is high (as I perceive it), since not many WANT to spend 8 hours a day in front of a pile of papers of legal gobledeegook which is of relatively low importance but necessary.
Can not see myself in Journalism.
Also, it is not a rare 'miracle' around these parts to study more than the usual 5 years and in more fields of study, which I might do.

This is one serious question i've been asking myself recently even though im not quite out of school yet.Since i'm good with english i will most likely get a job involving this skill.It's certainly the thing that will get me into college.There's also another option involving the bulgarian version of NSA(national security agency - low salary / high risk / mentally unstable people xD) which my brother could help me get into.But im still waiting to see how things go from here ^^

Careers and school is all I think about lately. I took the year off to work and figure out what I wanted to do. This fall I will likely be taking a couple of undergraduate courses. I want to get into International Business, but I don't have all of the pre requisites, so after this year I'll take some high school courses, and hopefully reach my goal.

Well I'm headed to University this september and I'm doing my undergrad in Economics and then the next two years In Business Administration. Then a masters in Business Administration ... Im not sure about the doctrine yet ... its very "intense". But yeah something along the lines of venture capitalist sounds good by me. As long as good money is involved I'm more than happy in the field Ive chosen. I recently opened a Liquor Delivery service. Obviously I'm not old enough to sell people alcohol yet so the formal papers are all under my uncle's name, but it is mine nonetheless. You can actually access the website ... its on my Profile.

After I finally finish my undergrad degree soon, I'll be getting a job with NGA, where they'll hopefully pay to send me to Georgetown to get my graduate degree in strategic intelligence.

I hope to stay involved in analyst work after my degree is finished, however I definitely wouldn't mind a nice team lead position at the Pentagon.
