I'm seeing no real discussion value in this. Again, this will face a lock. Please leave the thread creation to people who can muster up good discussion. kthxbai
Awwww But, LotRant...
Although that may be true, I really like Sega. I use to play it all the time.
Ha-ha!
“It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it." ~Aristotle
I was a Sega fanboy when they had their own consoles. After they sold out, I don't really like them anymore...
...so that you know where you can find me
I've always liked Sega..Well Sega back in the day. I prefered my Genesis over the SNES, and even had the Sega CD. I did enjoy the first Sonic and Sonic CD, but after that Sonic never really thrilled me. I much prefered things like Altered Beast and Shinobi.
Then later on you got some great stuff like the Panzer Dragoon series which was awesome. I'm so glad I ended up buying Panzer Dragoon Saga for the Saturn when it was new and just released.
The Phantasy Star series was something I always liked as well. And I'm not talking about the Online ones...I'm talking 1-4..Yes I'll even take PSIII over PSO.
Shining Force was always great as well. It's just a shame Sega forgot that they're strategy RPG's.
um, the discussion here is talking about Sega's games. You seriously have no opinion what so ever on Sega?
Jill Bird seems to want suggestions. Is that too hard? I realize some work on grammar needs to be done. But not everyone on the internets can be skilled in the English language. Just like people you come across in real life wont always be.
You could probably even get away with talking about what Sega games you like. Old or new, talk about Sega games.
There's a discussion to be had. Probably more so than a poll about creamy or crunchy peanut butter, or "What lame Anime name are you going to give your non Japanese baby so they can be tortured and made fun of through life?"
While I've always thought they should have just gone down with the ship the thing is they are a business. They had shareholders and everything to worry about. I don't see how exiting the console market is "selling out".
Now I suppose taking MS's money and putting games like Panzer Dragoon Orta and Gun Valkyrie on the original Xbox could be seen as selling out. They still put major franchises like Virtua Fighter on the PS2 which was a smarter move.

Ive always been a Nintendo fan myself but I will never forget Golden axe one of my favorite Sega games.
I've always found it to be some what odd when a European is more of a Nintendo fan than a Sega fan due to years of Sega dominance in that region.
I also found it odd to find a UK site devoted to the TurboGrafx-16 too..considering that console was almost non-existent there.

That's understandable. It's just that apparently Nintendo was never really able to break through to the European market the way Sega did. But being that I'm not European I never really knew why. I've heard Nintendo just never knew how to market it there. But who knows really.
Sega needed to beat us over the head with "Blast Processing" and John Madden Football for it to succeed here.
Even in the states people your age most of the time hadn't heard of the TG-16 until the games came to virtual console. While it was more popular here than in the UK it still didn't do to great. Japan was about the only market where it was a bit of a success. Only being beatin by the Super Famicom at the time.
On another note...
Sega always made some great Arcade games as well. Golden Axe will always be a classic, but in the 90's when things like Virtua Fighter, Virtua Cop, House of the Dead, SEGA Rally, and Virtual On came out. Rad Mobile (can be seen in the movie Encino Man) was always one of my favorites as well.
Did anyone here ever come across there Hologram game in the arcades called "Time Traveler"? There was a place just outside the city that had it. It looked cool to me then. After I tried playing it though it wasn't so cool anymore.

I used to own a Sega. It wasn't the best console I had at the time. I went a little more retro than that with the Atari.
As for her wanting suggestions, it's hard for me to believe that when she has already made negative posts in a thread about swine flu and created a garbage thread about Paris Hilton. If she keeps this up, I think I can easily call her the female Mavericker.
I'm impressed by your comparison and am forced to agree. But those two threads aren't the only ones. There's a discussion to be had. Probably more so than a poll about creamy or crunchy peanut butter, or "What lame Anime name are you going to give your non Japanese baby so they can be tortured and made fun of through life?"

I love Sega, but miss the old Sega. The days of MasterSystem/Genesis will never come again.
i loved the genesis console.
Sega does what nintendon't :P
Im crazy about my DC, I still play it today, didn't really care for there other consoles though
Loved the DC. That console gave fighting game fans something to cheer about. And NBA2k? I played the bejesus outta that game. Iverson ftw!
I haven't paid much attention to Sega since they stepped out of the console wars. But I don't hate them for it - they did what they had to do to keep their company afloat, and I'm fine with that. I have my Genesis, Sega CD, Game Gear, and DC. I don't need anymore consoles from them to remain a fan.
I still play my Sega CD occasionally, and I'll pull out my DC for a little Capcom vs SNK once in a blue moon.
Sega had a great run. I can't think of two better companies to have grown up with than Sega and Nintendo.
Sega will live on as a ghost on XBL Arcade and Wii virtual console.
Sega is okay, but the only real good game at least for me was Sonic games. Other then that Sega never really peaked my interest much.
