Do you think Pikachu will ever evolve?

Pretty easy question. Do you think Ash's Pikachu will ever evolve into a Raichu or do you believe Pikachu will stay Pikachu til the end of Pokemon and never evolve?

I believe Pikachu will never evolve into Raichu, but if it was to happen it would be during the last episode or some kind of parallel episode.

I want ash to stop getting involved with all the fokes he meets along the way, I'd like it if he was lone trainer. is that not the point of poke'mon to be the best on your own. he does more blabbing than battling,trainning or catching.

I'm amazed that Ash hasn't picked up a Lighting Stone at any of the big shopping malls yet. Pikachu isn't a level up so I don't see it coming anytime soon.

I doubt it mainly because it would look weird, all those years a pikachu then raichu. nope just wouldnt look right

Nah. They already had an episode about it where Ash asked Pikachu if he wanted to evolve and Pikachu said no.

I wouldn't feel weird if he did, but I find it weird that Ash has had Pikachu for a long time and yet he still loses. Not only that, but he rarely uses him in a hard battle. (such as the Hoenn league etc.)

btw, is Pikachu a boy or a girl? Sometimes they have shown him wear girl clothes, and sometimes guy clothes.

But Pokemon creators know that it would kill the show (even more) to have him evolve.

since it is afterall the figure head of pokemon, i really doubt itll ever evolve, but if it does itll prbly be in the last episode or a closing movie and turn into some "super pokemon" or something stupid like that...

I don't think Pikachu will ever evolve because Ash won't find a crystal. Also my brother said that he will have to teach Pikachu his iron tail again if he evolves into Raiku.

Based on the circumstances, it will not. Pikachu is the mascot of the franchise, the poster boy of the series, losing it (through evolution) will affect the series by a great deal. It's like taking away Colonel Sanders from KFC, or Ronald McDonald from McDonald's. Though losing it could mean a STEP FORWARD for the franchise itself, i doubt that long-time fans, purists, and young ones alike will dig the whole idea.

Another factor that will be greatly affected is the fact that Ash, even with all those badges and experience under his belt, is still presented as an underdog. Just look at Ash's monsters, he does have a few fully evolved baddies here and there but if you look at the ones he had (and still have) over the years, a lot of them are cutesy little critters - and one of those cutesy little critters is Pikachu. Raichu, no matter how cute it is, still looks bigger and badder than a Pikachu, it will definitely take away a huge chunk of "underdog-ish-ness" from Ash.

Pikachu's character is another factor. Just like what a lot of people have said on this thread, Pikachu doesn't want to evolve even if it's presented with the right opportunity to do so. We have several episodes to prove this, perhaps the most notable of these episodes is the one where Ash's Pikachu gets its *** kicked by Lt. Surge's Raichu. In this episode, Nurse Joy even gives a thunder stone to Ash but Pikachu refused the offer.

...Anyhow. In the games, you meet the player of Red/Green in Gold/Silver who owns a Lv.81 Pikachu. So I rather doubt it.

The children in anime/cartoons always remain children. Haruhi in The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi never graduates high school. It's the same thing with Pikachu for the same reasons.

I first started watching Pokemon when it first came I and I was nine years old when it first came out, and there was one episode when Pikachu was going to evolve but he didn't want to I don't think so he never did.

I'm 20 years old now and I stopped watching pokemon when I was 12 but to this day whenever I see pokemon on Pikuchu has yet to evolve so I highly doubt he ever will. People are use to see him like that after all these years so I don't see him evolving anytime now or in the near future.

Yes. That episode is a remake of the one from Kanto in which Pikachu refused to evolve.

As has been stated already, Pikachu will never evolve. Not only is it the Pokemon franchise's mascot, but having it agree to evolve into a Raichu would be out of character, since it does not wish to become one.
