Darker Than Black sequel confirmed.

Bones Studio confirmed today a continuation of their 2007 seinen series Darker Than Black.


Kind of disappointed with this. The first series was very well done no matter how you look at it, and a continuation of it seems like they could only bring down the mystery and thrilling ambiguity of the first...which I can safely say is the only anime I have seen to make its abiguity surrounding the actions of its main character a good thing.

I chalk this up more to just catering to fans than anything else...

This is a decent series and I suggest that any fan of anime (or of the TV show 'Heroes') should give this overlooked series an attempt.

DtB is one of my favorite anime. When I saw this article, I was jumping out the roof and onto cloud nine. I think that the first season ended poorly. There was little closure and it left me feeling uncomfortable. I also feel that the pace of the episodes was a little skewed. However, even after recognizing these problems, DtB still holds a special place in my heart. I can't wait to see the second season.

I just been watching this show. I am on episode 12. I am enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would.

Obviously I will not weigh in on what I think of a sequel till I am finished, but so far it has been top notch.

All I can see is that Darker Than Black was a great anime show, and usually Bones never dissapoints (FMA, Ouran High School Host Club, and so on)
Im sure season 2 of Darker than Black will be awesome

~25 episodes is average length for an anime series. Most series are either ~25 or ~13, and they don't need to be any longer than that to tell a good story from beginning to end.

I do agree that Solomon and Nov. 11 look alike.

<3 loved darker than black, it saddens me whenever an anime ends and I have to part ways with the characters I grow attached to as it progresses, so I'm glad I'll be sing more of Hei.

Last summer some documents leaked from Bones that mentioned a second Darker Than Black (as well as the currently airing FMA:Brotherhood). According to those documents, the main production staff had already been collected, and drafting had begun for the script of this new series. That was some time ago, and considering it has been formally announced, it's more than safe to say they've been working on it for quite some time. They've probably already finished the script and produced a few episodes at this time. More than likely it will begin airing during the fall anime series, which is usually mid-to-late October.

i would think the plot will be completely different, since in the last DTB they killed off alot of characters and used up the plot of his past, how he got his powers etc......

After watching this. It looks like they are going to Show how the charactors develop into who they are in the first series. the charactors from before were adults in Tokyo. All the same charactors just younger in the second. What do you think of this idea?

This is good news since I just finished the 1st season of DTB and thought it was excellent eventhough the ending was lacking a little. So I'm thrilled to hear their will be a 2nd season.
