Hi people! Akira's back~~^.^! Turn out a few turned out to be one, eh heh..heh...heh. ^^"
A human bitten by pureblood vampires turn into vampires themselves. When that happens, there can be only one of two results, Their blood becomes toxic and die, or slowly suffering the pain of transforming into a vampire. Other vampires don't possess this dark power that purebloods have. I respect his strength of will, he was only a human, yet he resisted the powerful vampire instinct for four years. ~ Kaname Kuran,
First, allow me to welcome the new characters (and those owned by previous players). Glad to have you on board!
Second, (to the Guardians), Piers's log will be up tomorrow in order to go along (a little late, actually) with the RPG time.
you can finish the interaction and Ill take it from there Sol

AAAANnnnnd! I am officially (or a bit) back! Work is done! RP and Nano straight ahead. XD (Until next week that is... then work ensues again.. dang). Still, I will have to post for my characters tomorrow because of some unforeseen difficulties tonight. What the hey but hey.. Stuff happens.
Anyway, thanks to everyone who posted during my absence. I'm also quite pleased to meet a number of new characters.
Valk's Amber : Nice to have another female Guardian on board! I'm looking forward to meeting her.
Kotomi Ichinose: Aand, another wonderful female Guardian! (Oh yes, you were asking for some comments on your RP-ing. If I may be so bold. Reading your character sheet was very interesting. Your Nightmare is ingenious. Truth be told, I've been waiting for a "Pain" Nightmare to come along. In addition to that, your characters were wonderfully written.
About your RP-ing, what can I say? You're definitely a good writer and your posts are very expressive. I've yet to witness a character "hook", though (like some characters have successfully done in the RP). Probably because you've yet to interact with the rest of the RPers. You've only had three posts after all. ^^ (Valkarma (Jace) is one of our co-GM's and has some pretty influential characters. I know this is going to be interesting. Reading though the two of you interacting reminds me of old Shakespearean plays... Such poetic language from the two of you! *Claps)
Talli's Marcelo: This character rocks. I think I've already mentioned it lol. It's a breathe of fresh air to see a human character struggling with human conflicts. Kudos for having a vanilla character.
Thanks guys for the wonderful comments. I've rped before, but this is one of the most interesting ones i have been in for awhile, and probalby the most expressive posting i've done in some time. ^^

I'm back!!! sorry for not being here I've had a ton of stuff to do for school
Trusting a person is giving someone the ability to destroy you, but at the same time being confident the he/she won't.......

Guys, I'm seriously sorry, I really want to do this, but I've had a few things that have come up that are going to make this impossible for me, really. So, if for a while, one of you'd like to take up my character, let me know and I'll message you all the details you'll need to know! Thanks!
I want to make a new person i just don't know how i would, you know.
Never Give In, Never Give up.
How many charcters do you have now?
If it's less then 3 them just write up the normal stuff like you did with you first character and post in in the sign-up.
Then me, cross or sab will check it, approve it and your away. So long as they have different text colours you should be fine.
it will be but like it's hard to come up with new material
Never Give In, Never Give up.
If you need inspiration just think of something you find cool.
Or do the things stuff like this always says. Read a book, watch a movie/show stuff with the kind of things that interest you. A good one is just find a picture that looks cool and build a character from it.
Think of characters you have seen in anything and loved. Do one like them.
Or just think of something you want them to be able to do and build up around it.
If your really stuck for idea you could just ask someone for an idea but it's always best to come up with something on your own because you often have more fun Roleplaying it.
@ Miny: Oh gawsh haha! Actually, I'm not familiar with the anime the pic was from, Miny :P. I just took it cos the character (Yamamoto?) looks kinda cheeky there and somewhat like a 'hey-I'm-holding-my-tie-up-and-I'm-wearing-a-red-shirt-I-must-be-badas" kind of aura. :P Though, I'm reading Takeshi Yamamoto's profile now and he seems like the optimistic/laid-back guy much like Yorick is....... I think.. Wooh haha. I've always wanted to play a goofy playboy character just to annoy the girls lol.
PS. I did answer the question (yeah huh? we're really going with the bold type with this thing? Hahaha)! XP I said Yorick was connected to the Guardians and was suspended that's why he was absent from the HQ. I even revealed the embarrassing grounds of his suspension XD.

@Valk: Wow, this is starting to sound like a Writing 101. *Thumbs up* I like that! Therefore, I hereby announce the start of:
The OOC Writing Tutorials! (or something like that...)
Having difficulties with your characters? Have a problem you'd like to share? Have some cool knowledge you'd like to share? Post it in the OOC! We will help each other out. It would be fun to know we're improving while we're having fun! ^^ (Utilizing this OOC seems like a good idea hehe)
@Ikazuchi: There are a lot of techniques to make a good character, Ika. One advice I could give is this: Try to make your character multi-dimensional. That means, you have to give him flaws, good points, bad points. You have to learn about his habits, his likes/dislikes, his dreams, etc. It's like... getting to know a new friend.
People will care about characters who get scared/get angry/get weak like them. Avoid making "cool" characters whose only purpose is to look dashing and clean all the friggin time. Those are annoying.
Also, for interesting characters, give him a unique quirk that will make him stand out from the rest. For example, if you're going to make a "serious" character, make a serious character who's stoic and cold but LOVES sweets... Or has a weakness for purikura (japanese photo booths).. or for grasshoppers or women... old women? LOL. Something like that. The trick is making characters you yourself would like to meet.
Hope that helps! ^^

As for my fellow RPers, here's a Grammar headache. I am having a real problem with run-in sentences (sentences that don't seem to end and oftentimes, only separated by comma or conjunctions until they start to sound a bit tedious and overdone, yet a new sentence doesn't sound right at all *phew* like so? haha). This has been an obvious error inn many of my posts, and I can't seem to get around them. Anyway, any advice?
Yamamoto is the typical prepubescent, what-are-girls type of guy, haha. I cracked up reading your most recent post. (The puppy pick up line was amazing. x'D)
My "The Question" is Bolded, Italiced, and colored. I win. :3
---
I definitely get those commas and conjunctions sentences. What I do with them is; instead of trying to work the periods in there, try manipulating the sentence to work with the periods. Does that make any sense at all or am I just babbling?
I throw random periods in there and make the sentence work that way. It may sound grammatically incorrect and a stupid way to do things, but it's easier to do than staring at the sentence and rewriting it over and over again until you just scrap the whole paragraph and rewrite it all. (I've done that before)
Yay! OOC Writing Tutorial. I think I'll be asking for advice more than giving it. ^^;;
1. How, exactly, do you deal with writer's block? o_O
2. Besides giving them weaknesses, how do you make a character more believable? Like, in the way they talk or interact with other people?
3. In NaNo, my sentences are too often 'was', 'is', 'are', 'were' sentences. I don't know how to move away from that other than go back and edit them. And you're not supposed to. Help...?
@ Sab: When I realize I've created a sentence that doesn't deserve to last that long, I start from the beginning, locate the end of one idea and cut the sentence there. Like a surgeon.
Also I can't wait to see Yorick and Seda interact. Oh that would be hilarious. And with the other guy guardians too. They'll be so pissed off. Hahaha! It hasn't even happened and I'm laughing already. XD
@ Ika: When I make characters for RPs, I first look at the plot description and think up what kind of character would best help the plot along.
When I run out of ideas, I think up odd quirks (like, one's greatest mission in life was to find his long-lost childhood teddy bear, or this one's a Korean with a penchant for cursing) that I can use to build a character on.
Actually, I don't know what kind of people they are until I give them life and start writing about them.
And when all else fails, have you thought about creating a girl character?
@Minyrama: Gahh... The Question's awesomeness blinds me! It blinds me! Nooo....
Anyway.. back to our regular programming.
Yush. Yorick cracks me up too! I'm having a blast RP-ing him hahaha. (Takes me back to my fanfiction.net days... sigh.. hahaha)
++
Oh... I shall try that advice. It sounds random enough to be effective hehe. Like, poke a stick at the right direction, making sense in a spontaneous way. It can also serve as a challenge coming up with sentences from the accidental periods! Thanks a lot!

[EDIT]
I refreshed the page and Sol's written a post! GAH! Fast..
Well anyway, about your questions *takes glasses off and wipes them like those smart-doctor-people type in movies*:
1. Writer's Block? Don't hate it. A lot of people tell me they hate/are scared/despise writer's block. But don't! Take it as a chance to culminate ideas. Do something else that will trigger inspiration. Like surf the net, read a book, take a walk. And the mother of all advices: TAKE A BATH! Seriously dude, I've had a DOZEN writers block washed away by the wonders of shower! I'm serious!
A more practical way is to just keep writing. This really works. If you're staring at a blank Word Document, just type I'm staring at a Blank Word Document. And then... just keep on writing on how bored you are. So what if it doesn't make sense? Or is a little bit kooky? Nobody's gonna judge you. What matters is you wrote something that stimulated your brain.
++
2. Believable characters. This helps. Write a resume for a character. You know the Sign-Up Character Sheet? That's not even HALF the info you should know about your character. For example. You have a flawed character, check. Let's say, a grumpy guy who hates people. Check. Question? Why? Because when he was young, he was treated the same way. Check check.
So let's study this "grumpy guy who hates people" character. Can he be:
1. Sarcastic Hater: treats people like they're dumb
2. Cold Hater: treats people like their not worth his time
3. Conceited Hater: treats people like they're below him
4. Sad Hater: treats people like they're hopelessly hateful
5. Sadistic Hater: treats people like crap on purpose
6. Extortionist Hater: treats people like objects
AND SO MUCH MORE...
See, in this "grumpy guy who hates people" there are SO many ways to portray him. Each "type" will have a different set of vernacular, body language, mindset, opinions, etc.
Here are some more tips on making characters:
1. Observe the people you know. Study their traits and the way they interact. Use some their quirks (but not all!!) and incorporate it in a character.
2. Observe the people you DON'T know. Watch how they carry themselves. (Don't get caught though. Tis embarrassing, believe me ;>_>)
3. Holding an "interview" with your character always helps. Tons of fun too! Ask them stupid questions, their secrets, etc. If they don't want to talk about it, then you're character is rebelling against you and that's a good thing.
4. Once you know your character background, work some logic into it. If a person grows up in the slums, he will likely talk ghetto. If he was an only child, he might be an attention-craver. If he went to school in a private/public school, chances are, his friends will affect his taste on clothes/music/fashion/etc., even the way he speaks
++
3. NaNo: This is hard. I know it's hard, but DON'T EDIT! Seriously. Turn off the evil editor-voice who says your story/grammar/sentence is not good enough. Don't do it. DON'T!! Don't don't don't don't don't. Just friggin type. It's like molding a piece of clay... It's an abominable mess at first. You keep kneading and shaping and there are times it looks like Sponge Bob on drugs. But don't go back and ask for new clay. It will always look the same. just mold and shape and mold and shape. Don't EDIT. DOn'T EDIT!
+++++
Guh... Bout your advice.. I can remember the whole "picking the main idea" in Primary English class. It was ALWAYS my worst lesson. Hahaha. Low marks on it all the time. Let's see if I've improved after a decade hahaha.
And yush! I've realized, most of the Guardians are steadfast guys who are really selfless and responsible. That's why we love them! I just thought it might be fun to mix a semi-rotten apple into the bunch! Must be hilarious!
1:
Duno. When I get writers block I just stop and go do something else. That might work for you. When I come back it has normally gone so maybe just waiting it out will work.
2:
Background and quirks are some of my favorate ways to help flush a character out. With background you can look on it when trying to decide how to react to a situation.
For example if they had a rough background then they may be jaded to certain things. If they grew up on the streets and someone tells them about a killing and mugging they ain't going to go running to help or be sympathic, unlike someone who has grown up in a peaceful or shelter life who might be scared or disgusted.
And quirks that you keep up always make them seem more real to me, because it's something that is theirs. A character that adds a word to the end of every sentence or who always mentions, or trys to, a certain thing. Like Jace and Thanatos. Jace makes musical quotes and songs as he does things and Thanatos is based on greek gods mythology.
3:
stuck for that one.
Em...that my advice.
Hope it helped you.
If it did the oppisite then I blame the monkey. It was his fault.
