He hadn't noticed, but Alex had dropped back down onto the bench. His cigarette fell from his lips as Ruiner continued. What?! What the HELL kind of ability is that? To sense and communicate with Nightmares? What else does he know about us? What has he said! Panic pumped into his veins. He went to take another hit of his tobacco when he realized he had lost his cigarette. He pulled another out, cautiously, as to not draw any attention to himself, and lit it, taking a long drag.
Mayhaps my previous notion was not completely accurate. He is not communicating with us, nor multiple Nightmares. Simply the girl.
The girl?! He took a second and exhaled. It calmed Alex's nerves that he may not be found out, yet the fact that the girl, too, had a Nightmare was bothersome enough.
Take note that the boy's Nightmare is initiating a play of wits in the form of a game. He's also making the claim of the boy's life, leaving me to believe he's a-
"Feral. Poor kid. Doesn't concern us though." Alex commented to himself in a hushed whisper. "I'm not sure this is what I wanted out of this day. For sure. But what are ya gonna do?"
As irrelevant as it is to us, will we be staying?
Of course. Know thy enemy. Guess we will be working today after all. Alex took no time at all to fall into his mood, into the swing of his working persona. He knew what to do next.
