You're doing it wrong.
I had the pleasure to see a foreign car from Britain today. Quite the spectacle it was. I noticed that the drivers seat is to the right, not to the left. Here in America, the car drives you. Or wait never mind the you drive the car in the left seat.
So who's doing it wrong? The countries that drive to the left or right?

Nobody is doing anything wrong, what may work for one country may not work for the other. But, I'll have to back the U.S. and say Lefties are right.

Since most of the world is right handed the brits, Aussies, and Japanese, etc. are doing it wrong. But in the US were people think driving a manual transmission is "too hard", or "too much trouble" it doesn't really matter.

things may or may not be easier in the center. But its probably harder to get a car to seat 4 or 5 people that way.. Also. Since engines are in the front of most cars, and the front wheels are usually what turns the engine kind of gets in the way of the steering column. So it needs to go on the left or right side of the engine.
Its not the seats i wonder about its the fact that its 2009 and we still don't have hover cars.

I think lazy people would go out more if the cars did the driving.

Left-sided driving is obviously more practical for people who drive a stickshift so I don't know people in Britain could stand it 40 years ago, considering the fact that everyone back then had to drive a manual transmission.
I want a two-story car. I'll just have to make sure I don't go out driving on a windy day.
It doesn't really matter, just as long as people get from A to B alive.
I wonder why the world can't just decide on one side of the engine.

I come from Britain and I still like my stuff on the right side. Don't know why. Though I don't think anyone is doing it the wrong way.
Wedding is in October. And I'm going to be a dad. Super excited.
The reason the steering wheel is to the left or right is because then you can look past cars when you're overtaking or pulling out. As such, if you drive on the right, your wheel will be on the left, and vice versa.
As for who's doing it wrong, no one is, and does it actually matter? It's not as if the universe will suddenly collapse in on itself if certain countries don't do what everyone else does.

Most of Europe, North & South America, The Middle East Northern parts of Africa and Asia drive on the right side of the road.

For the sake of this argument, both sides are right and wrong. Right because people think it is, and wrong because other people who drives on the opposite side thinks that specific side is wrong.
