im currently using google chrome as my main browser

but half the things here dont work Dx

vbPlaza, Image hosting, Mood Changing, blogging...you get the picture

is there any reason for this

(whenever i want to do these things i just use firefox or IE whcih is becoming very annoying Dx)

The answer is simple: Google Chrome is still in development, and certain things just don't work with it. Are you running the latest version of Chrome?

For some reason (last I checked) Chrome doesn't handle the Javascript that the menus use correctly. (This is one major reason I haven't swapped from Firefox to Chrome.)

A simple way around this problem is just to use the direct links to each one.

i would be using fiirefox but ever since i had the win32.brontok virus (now well and truely dead) it just doesnt work, it crashes upon opening

Yeah, I've had issues here with Chrome, too, but Opera 9.x, Firefox 2.x and 3.x, SeaMonkey, IE6 & 7 & 8, Safari 3 and various programs' built in browsers have all worked quite well.
Pick something, anything else besides Google Chrome and it'll work well on AF. I never even use it for browsing, since the lack of a menu toolbar annoys me, just for making sure my boring, simple HTML pages look the same in different browsers.

Regarding the worm: if Windows works, but Firefox doesn't, just reinstall Firefox.
