Only 1 wish, plus this:

Omnipotence. Failing that, omniscience.

Omnipotence easily avoids this trap. While I may do whatever I wish, even just making my own wishes with my own power, I have no need for further wishes from the original source. Whatever I will to happen may very well appear as a wish, but it is not. The wishes come from some external power, where I work my own magic.

A more useful idea, in the future, would be to ban wishing for omnipotence if you're going to ban the multiplying of wishes. Just a thought.
