In case you couldn't tell from the title, this is going to be spoilers everywhere. SO if you're nowhere near being finished with One Piece, or didn't read this chapter yet, I would suggest you to get out of this thread right now 8).
In my personal opinion, this chapter could have been better, yet it still captured several things quite well. (Or maybe it's me imagining there would be more of a fight? I'm not quite sure.)
Luffy against his grandpa definitely showed something. While Luffy believed in his goal, to save his brother, his grandfather at the last moment wavered. Whether or not it was intentional is hard to tell. For one, Garp could have looked like he was going to take down Luffy just so that everyone else would let down their guard. (After all, Marine Hero versus a pirate rookie, no matter how many feats he has accomplished, the result is still quite clear.) This shock could be what Garp was aiming for so that Luffy could get to Ace while everyone's in shock, or, he just changed his mind, and decided it was not worth it at the last moment. Anyway, that was my take on that scene.
Mr. Three's little speech about Bon-Chan was nice, great, I still hope he's alive though. Since after all, he did say, "Queers never die!"
Hopefully Whitebeard's crew will get out relatively unharmed, although casualties are impossible to avoid at this point. Personally, I'm hoping to see Dragon in action, because I'm dying to know what exactly the "Most Dangerous Man On Earth" can do. I mean, he couldn't have simply taken over dozens of kingdoms by simply staying in the dark can he?
Alright, I'll shut up now LOL.
