Eyes, Photoshop, Other things.

Hello there. these are some pictures of my eyes that i've taken and one i've photoshopped, and some other random pictures i've taken. Feedback is appreciated.








Yes I know the subjects are random, but all i'm looking for is constructive criticism.
Also, i'm sorry if the images are too big, I can reduce the size if needed.

I love your photos! I especially like your use of black and white, particularly in the second photo which would have shown too much overblown highlights in the background and too much shadow in the subject if it were kept in full color. The way you did it though, it looks poster perfect! The B&W with the picnic table is also awesome, and shows just the right definition and color.

What equipment did you use on them?

P.S., on the eyes you should try a tighter crop. I'm guessing at a glance that you have a 4:3 aspect camera, but you should try cropping in Photoshop to a longer 3:2 aspect ratio to frame the eyes.

Really nice , and especially i have to say for the second picture , the trees.
Entangled beauty in that pic is just so much expressive. Feels good when i look at it.

Hi and welcome ^_^

First, I do like the two portraits you have in black & white there. The composition and the feel of the b/w is really nice, and I'd like to see more work like that. If anything, I'd like to see clearer focus on the subject in the second portrait (last photo), but they're quite good.

Looking at the rest of the photos though, the composition in the first one seems lacking, it's too centered, and the flowers in the middle take up too much attention, without actually being interesting.

The second I am guessing was too dark and you brightened it? It definitely needs more contrast, and if doing that brings out too much color noise make it b/w in photoshop or similar. Other then that though, it lacks a clear subject, which makes it harder to draw the viewer in.

The two eye photos are nice (and great color/detail in the first one) but they both suffer from being obvious crops of a larger image. Unfortunately I am more interested in seeing the full portrait, then the single eye. It might be fixed with some depth of field adjustments, even faked in photoshop, to make them stand out a bit more as individual images.

The night photo seems to suffer from being too soft, as well, and doesn't draw me in either, I'd like to see more color in the night shots, as well as a clearer subject. I can see you used some sort of a tripod, as it is an 8 second exposure, so I am guessing that the problem was that the camera couldn't auto-focus in such low light. You may be able to focus manually in the cameras macro mode, even if you aren't shooting a macro, but I am unfamiliar with the samsung models.

Oooh... I never did get into the darkroom stuff much. Was it just the B&Ws that you developed yourself? They seem to have a different and unique quality to them.

Yes it was just the black and white one I did myself. The others were all digital.

Just to clear a few things up, the only photoshopped ones were the eyes, Neither of which were cropped actually, they were just taken really really close to the eyes and zoomed in slightly, and as for the night photo, that was a first attempt, and sadly, my tripod was my arms resting against a wall, and I dont think the exposure was that long, i'm not sure though. And again, thank you for your advice, I will definately remember it during future photoshops/photoshoots. ^^
