Hi, I am looking for anime to watch, since I've just started to watch anime again and some of the few I like are:
Fruits Basket
Dragonball
Kiddy Grade
Neon Genesis Evangelion
Chrno Crusade
Death Note
I remember when I was little I liked to watch Ah! My Goddess, Ranma 1/2 ...
What do you recommend?

If you're looking for a manga where they get married in the end, then perhaps you should try MeruPuri? It's a bit short but still good.
There's Tail of the Moon, too, but the main character can be annoying.
After the post I wrote here, I watched Special A and Ouran High School Host Club ^^ I'll try the other ones, then!

Hello, I am new to the forums and I am looking for more anime to watch. Now I know I am probably going to get alot of hate from this but, I prefer to watch english dub so if you can suggest stuff that I can get that is english dubbed. I do not like to read whilst I watch... Anyways here is what I have watched;
Finished: Currently/Going to watch:
FMA Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom
FMA: Brotherhood Spiral
Death Note
Code Geass
Code Geass: R2
TTGL
Abenobashi
Elfen Lied
Eureka Seven
Baccano
Evangelion 1.11
Evangelion 2.22
I know there are alot of differences in these anime. I like to mix it up. I LOVED FMA Brotherhood. Everything about it was amazing. the way the charactors connected with eachother was very well done.
Also Death Note and Code Geass were one of my favoirites; I liked the genious teenagers who are bored and want to change the world for the better(Really smart kids getting a power that helps them is what I liked) Also the relationships hidden behind the scenes so to say in code geass the second life of a school student was entertaining. I liked that it didnt only focus on one thing.
TTGL well... This one I am pretty sure I can watch over and over it was hillarious and epic.
Eureka Seven and Elfen Lied were just really enjoyable to watch something to pass the time if you will. I found myself getting really into it. So Basicaly I am looking for all genres of anime the only thing I dont really like is horror. So no demonic stuff. Also I have tried to watch Cowboy Bebop but I just couldnt get into the jazzy theme or style.
Also I wouldnt mind a comedy here and there(everyone likes to laugh =D) I dont mind slight nudity if it is humourous or if it goes with the story(Elfen Lied had boobs big whoop) But I must say that I do not want to watch anything with sex or Hentai if you will.
Anyways I know i just rambled on but hopefully this is enough information so that people can suggest something good! thanks everyone!
Me and my fiancé are looking for an anime series to watch.
We/one of us like:
Chobits (He especially loves this one)
Digimon
Pokémon
Cardcaptors
Cowboy Bebop (He loves this one, I'm not a fan)
Gintama
Kyoran Kazoku Nikki
Manabi Straight
Ouran
Lucky Star
Ranma 1/2
K-ON
Sketchbook ~Full Colours~
Minami-Ke
Keroro Gunsou (We love this one)
Azumanga Daioh
Mameshiba Adverts (This counts because we love Mameshiba)
Studio Ghibli
Animes we don't like:
Naruto
Death Note
Bleach
Full Metal Alchemist
One Piece
Yu Yu Hakusho
Reborn
Inuyasha
D.Gray-Man
Hellsing
Spice and Wolf
Vampire Knight
Clannad
Rosario no vampire
Animes I've not seen, but do not interest me:
Elfen Lied
Code Geass
Claymore
School Rumble
Samurai Deeper Kyo
There are obviously more to each of these lists, but essentially, what we're looking for is something that is funny is places, but with a deeper plot line behind it, preferably an ongoing plot story too, so there's a story to follow, but not one that spans 1000 fillers.
What about watching Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya ?
You could try Great Teacher Onizuka, Beck, Eden of the East, Maria Holic, Welcome to the NHK or Arakawa Under the Bridge since it seems you like the more slice of life/comedy series.
These ones are a bit different from the ones you listed but don't really fit into the your dislike list - Desert Punk, Bakemonogatari, Mushishi, Kaichou wa Maid-sama!, Durarara!!!, To Aru Majutsu no Index or Nodame Cantabile

Hey all! I've been having a lot of trouble finding new stuff to watch, so I decided to ask around.
9/10 for me is something like GITS: outstanding visuals and audio, dark mood, great semi-realistic action, and something substantial to sink my teeth into and think about other than romance/typical hero-on-a-quest stuff. I liked Darker than Black (mostly), Ergo Proxy (mostly), and NGE (mostly). NGE is kind of an outlier case because it has great visuals and some pretty heavy subject matter, but it can be really childish and goofy at times, and that's not my cup of tea at all. I thought Death Note was super fun when it was being clever, full of rapid fire plot twists (first 25 episodes or so?), before it started snorting coke while doing handstands.
Loved Paprika but didn't really care for Paranoia Agent (too many questions and not nearly enough answers). Loved Howl's Moving Castle (I don't mind romance at all when it's tasteful), liked Spirited Away, didn't enjoy Princess Mononoke. Cowboy Bebop was too goofy and the episodes way too disconnected. Black Lagoon was way too disconnected and the characters were paper thin. The original FMA was alll riiiiight. Monster was underwhelming to say the least. The characters in Planetes were way too obnoxious; lead female, I'm looking at you. I wanted her to float out into space and run out of oxygen for all her heavy-handed moralizing.
Things that will almost always kill a series for me: episodic format (no story), subservient female characters in big roles, silly animation for "comedic" scenes (most anime attempts at humor in general, really), stories revolving around teens/pre-teens. Of course there are exceptions to every rule. As a rule of thumb: the less characters gasp audibly to convey surprise (or love... or sadness... or fear... or embarrassment...), the better!
So does this sound like an impossible task? Or does some brave soul have suggestions to offer? I'll watch anything once.
I like your preferences in anime and agree with everything you said about big downsides in anime.
Try watching Kara no Kyoukai. It's a series of 7 movies that are excellent and it has everything you like (outstanding visuals and audio, dark mood, great semi-realistic action). I suggest trying to get past at least the third or fourth movie before you decide if you like it or not since the quality (in terms of story, character development and art) increases substantially with each movie and the story will start making a bit more sense if it seems weird to you. It is a bit violent though and is definitely targeted at a mature audience. The female protagonist is really cool also.
There is also Rurouni Kenshin: Trust & Betrayal. It's a prequel OVA to the really popular series Rurouni Kenshin but can be watched without prior knowledge. And if you end up liking it you can always try to watch the original series that in my opinion is one of the best shounen series created. Targeted at a mature audience even though Rurouni Kenshin is a shounen.
You might also like Phantom ~Requiem for the Phantom~. They might seem young in the start of the anime but they grow up by the middle which is also my favorite part of the series where awesome stuff happens.
Baccano! is a really good one also. Slightly less dark than the ones above but it makes up for it by having amazing development for the massive cast of characters. There is a bit of humor but you'll love the main comedy relief, Isaac and Miria, that it shouldn't be too much of a bother.
Hellsing Ultimate might not have semi-realistic action, but it has a really awesome protagonist. It's not a story that you have to think really hard but it's entertaining.
If you don't mind too muc having highschool age characters as the protagonists I also recommend Deadman Wonderland, Ga-Rei Zero, Blood+ and Dance in the Vampire Bund as they all have this mature setting and are pretty good.

I love:
Eden of the East
Angel Beats!
Full Metal Panic and Full metal Panic Fumoffu!
Full Metal Alchemist & FMA Brotherhood
Cowboy Bebop
Samurai Champloo (LOVE the music in this series)
I was also recommended to watch Princess Tutu. Sounds like a REALLY cute anime, and they have it on netflix! Also, all of the Hiyao Miyazaki movies are amazing.

I like shonen anime like:
Naruto (including Shippuden)
Nurarihyon No Mago (including 2nd season, sennen makyou)
Kekkaishi
Claymore
Blue Exorcist
I also like:
Jyu-Oh-Sei (Shoujo)

Popular animes which I don't like:
Wolf's Rain
Cowboy Bebop
Elfen Lied
Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
Ouran High School Host Club
Fairy Tail
Soul Eater
Also, if possible, an anime that is not more than 50 episodes?
Sorry about my fussiness ^^''' !!!

You would like Yu Yu Hakusho possibly. It's becoming quite the aged classic, the animation isn't up to par up to nowadays, but fairly good for its time. It's a tournament based anime, with supernatural elements, kinda like Nura and Blue Exorcist.
FUNimation did a pretty good job dubbing it if you're a dub person. The plot is a pretty simple shounen based style, but there are also traits of the main protagonist, Yusuke Urameshi, that are counter-intuitive to the shounen hero. His character flaws become his most appealing attributes.
The tagline on my Season 1 Set says "It's a straight up, pull no punches fight anime." Which is a fairly accurate description.
Hope this helped =)
