Locked forums?

Okay, first of all I'm new to this forum stuff as far as posting and stuff goes. I Only really started within the past few months. So I'm sorry if my question sounds stupid, I really don't know. My question is why would a forum be locked and is there a way to reopen it? For example I wanted to post in one about crushes on anime characters but it's locked. Do I have to start a new one or what. I really need to know what to do.

You can ask to have it open, but it would make more sense to make your own.

I'm not sure if a mod would open it up. It might have somethign to do with opening too many threads. Some forums, like the Pay to Post forums, you can request to open them.

Do you mean locked threads? If it's threads they're usually closed because it needs to be because it's old, it's getting off topic, it's innapropriate, or whatever reason. Usually you can't get it open but I'm not an admin.

As for threads you can PM the mod of the forum the thread is in and ask them to re-open it. They will tell you what to do next.
