Metallica Inducted Int Rock Hall

It has finally happened! Metallica has been inducted to the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame. They, in my opinion, have been deserving since their ...And Justice For All album, not the Ride The Lightning album. However, whatever your favorite Metallica album may be, they are still deserving regardless. Hats off to the group and I think their legion of fans(including me) would love to hear more.

Metaliica are known to be gods of metal , they actually introduced metal genre and regardless where and which category they are put in , their fans from all over the world always be there for them to cheer! \m/

They don't deserve this "honor" at all. Their music is mediocre at best they have nothing to say with their music they are just looking for money. The fact that a band that could be credited with destroying the rebellious nature of rock and roll is about to be given some sort of reward is pure insanity. what have those ****s ever given to the rock and roll community? Nothing. Rock and Roll is a rebel cry, a middle finger to the corporate bastards that want to exploit us and use our art as a way to make them selves rich. Not any more not now that those ****s have center stage crying about music downloads and ****. Instead of listening to these rich Benedict Arnolds go out and listen to a band with a true passion who aren't just looking to make a buck.

I find it sad they inducted Metallica into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame but Neil Diamond has yet to receive the recognition he so rightfully deserves.

But I can't say much about a Hall of Fame for music that inducted Pink Floyd after Sam and Dave.

I'm not saying Metallica wasn't a good band (now they're big-time sell-outs) but come on.

Thank you. The pure simple fact is that Metallica is a metal pioneer. Black Sabbath and Thin Lizzy paved the way but Metallica brought a WHOLE new style to the table.

I so agree. And I still think their albums (up to and including the black album IMO, though Im sure some would say ...and justice for all) sound unbelievable. I think ride the lightning is my favourite, followed by master of puppets and kill em all. Though I think master of puppets is my favourite song

I am seriously fan of both Alice Cooper and Metallica. And my level of caring about who entered what Hall Of Fame reached Zero.

Just another useless label added to a pack of CDs.
True fans know their music. They don't need lists for that.

So worth hearing. Most of the tracks, including "My Apocolypse" being the best IMO, sound much like the stuff from the ...And Justice For All album.

But anyway, Alice Cooper will be inducted, guive it time. I don't necessarily like the fact that AC is out still but it will happen. And why is it that Metallica is so damned for their music? The 80s and early 90s were their hay day but they still crank out pulse-pounding lyrics. Take a look at "Until It Sleeps", "St. Anger" and "Fuel"!. The band deserves it. Truly does, much like Alice Cooper. Metallica just flat won the ballot. Leave MetallicA alone for God's sake. Please. They make good music and deserve to be in.

They opened the door for a lot of people who would not have even took a second look at this type of music.
They rock hard for their fans at any show, and have 3 masterpiece albums. not to mention at least 3-4 songs I like on every subsequent album.

My fave song is Orion.

Yeah. The Master of Puppets, Kill 'Em All and ...And Justice for All albums all came out in the 80s. Not necessarily in said order but it doesn't matter. All of the albums rocked. The mid to late 90s were a bit of a drop off. The Black Album was amazing. St. Anger was good but could've been better. Load was the trend-breaker. It was well-produced and recorded. But the 80s for Metallica were their best time. Now, I'm not saying the new decades ahead will suck, but their 80s style was and still is insurmountable. And the concerts, sweet Jesus are they amazing! I went to a concert from their most recent tour. It was absolutely amazing. The pyro was fantastic, the sound was pure ecstacy and overall, it was the best concert I've ever been to. (I'm kinda hoping the Killswitch/Disturbed concert on the 24th will be better ) But you can't always look at money made and commercials. Go to a concert and watch how hard they rock out for the fans. That, IMO, is why they deserve to be in the Rock Hall of Fame. For entertaining the fans every bloody night for months on end, then going back to the studio to record.

Obviously it was not. But now that i know what you meant i can say this. A single era in a bands career does not get them in to the rock and roll hall of fame. This band is nothing but a scheme to get rich and you all fell for it. You allowed them to say "we're gonna write songs about nothing, charge way to much for a show, price our merch off the wall, and still get famous" These guys have no passion for their music and if they did you would not need to pay 30 bucks for the new metalica album they would release it for free rather than moan and groan about people downloading music. Look at them as a whole, they don't deserve any awards.

I'm not a fan of Metallica. But, I can see why they'd be inducted. Popularity has a lot to do with who gets nominated and who doesn't. Artistic credibility gets put on the back burner sometimes.

I like the Rock Hall, and I enjoy going there every few years, but some of their inductee choices are really off the wall. If you've ever visited the actual facility, there's some weird bands featured there that you would have never thought to be. Metallica is definitely not the most questionable.

EDIT: BTW Riot, I dont know if you watch FuseTV but if you get a chance watch "Metallica:In Their Own Words". Listen to James Hetfield and what Burton would have wanted. It will completely shoot down your statement of "they should have quit when Cliff died."
